Great Help with Choosing a Pickguard

By

I sent a request for help in selecting a pickguard for my guitar and received an answer within a day! I ordered it and despite the delivery delays associated with the pandemic, the pickguard arrives quickly. And, it fit my guitar perfectly.

Great service and exactly the right product.

Work great

Looks great on my guitars. I'm not a fan of the way pickguards look, but I need to protect the guitar, so this is the solution.

Replacement pick guard

By

It was purchased as part of a rehabilitation project on an old Chinese made Durango acoustic. A little bigger than the damaged original, the curve matched the outer ring of the sound hole markings, so it suited to the job very nicely. Good quality product.

Perfect fit for a 1970 Martin D-18

By

A customer recently brought in a 1970 D-18 whose original pick guard had shrunken and curled so badly it was contacting the high E string and causing a nasty buzz.

After removing the original with a little heat from a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then leveling the area under the pick guard by filling with several coats of Stew-Mac wipe-on Poly, the new pick guard matched perfectly. I was prepared to file, sand and shape as needed, but there was no need! There is absolutely no telltale evidence around the edges to give away that it was ever replaced.

The adhesive backing feels stronger than I had imagined it would be -- I don't think there will ever be a problem with the pick guard lifting. Thanks, Stew-Mac!

Beautiful, cactus fit

Just what my 1990 Kay Dreadnought find needed. I buffed the the top with StewMac Color Tone Scratch spray, positioned pickguard, pealed off adhesive back paper & was done! Only a day later did I notice there was protective film over pickguard’s front surface. Nice addition to repairing this guitar

Looks nice; does the job

Put clear one on a Taylor 214e; tricky to get it lined up with sound hole; a few air bubbles remain; but does the job protecting top of guitar; good price on product.

Nice and thin

By

Verified Buyer

Bought this as a possible replacement for a traditional pick guard as part of a top refinish project my luthier is doing. Appears to be nice and thin for use under final finish coat if we decide to go that route. Not pricey, so glad to have it on hand even if it doesn’t get used on this project.

Installed on an old D28 after repairing and leveling damaged area. Peel and stick. Be careful when aligning.
