HeatStick + Soldering Station Neck Removal Set

About This Item

Removing a neck in a busy shop? Use the HeatStick Set
The HeatStick Set has everything you need to remove a neck without steam. Get the set and be ready for the job!

In our shops, our soldering stations and irons are always in use. That's why we've made sets with the HeatStick and a soldering station so you'll have a dedicated neck removal set.

The HeatStick + Soldering Station Neck Removal Set includes:

HeatStick Also sold separately
The revolutionary HeatStick softens glue without blushing delicate finishes or loosening the neck block or braces like steam can. It's easy to control, and can be used for acoustic and electric guitars and mandolins. The HeatStick is 6" of solid copper and includes two bits for drilling the pilot and access holes through the fretboard.

Solomon SL-30 Soldering Station Also sold separately
The HeatStick fits into this station just like a replacement soldering tip. The digitally controlled temperature is extremely consistent, exactly what you need for a delicate neck removal. The handle is comfortable and easy to manuever into position when using the HeatStick and more.

It's also our favorite all around soldering station! The variable temperature makes sure you won't burn delicate components and makes it easy to make quality, long-lasting solder joints.

#2224 is a 110-volt AC electrical appliance, 60Hz. It has a U.S. standard Type A plug with two flat parallel prongs, ungrounded.

Superb.  Probably perfect.

I have been putting off this purchase for a while and decided to pull the trigger last week. Why did I wait. The old steam method worked, but nothing like this. I removed the neck cleanly and without issue. The steam method had a temp limit due to the boil point or 100c. Not this system. I let it get good and hot. Set the temp at 410c and waited until the very end to put a few drops of water in a second port I drilled with the smaller drill bit. Neck was off in less than 20 minutes start to finish. This is a 1000% improvement on the old system. Don't hesitate to buy this, especially if you need a better soldering iron like I did!

After melting a hand piece on a Weller using that version of the HeatStick, I tried the Solomon combination on an early 2000’s Lowden. Night and day...after about 15 minutes of heating, the neck slid out and no blushing (always fun to address on satin or semi-gloss finish).
