Solomon SL-30 Soldering Station

About This Item

Pro quality! Adjustable digitally controlled heat lets you get clean, professional solder connections for a variety of jobs.

No cold solder joints, no uncooperative solder flow, no burned connections.

Adjustable temperature control: The SL-30 soldering station's heat sensor is located near the soldering tip for a fast, accurate and consistent LCD Celsius readout, from 160-480 degrees (320-900 degrees F). For extended service life, an electronically switched transformer isolates the tip from transient AC voltage spikes.

    The SL-30 Soldering Station includes:
  • Comfort-grip soldering iron with 3-1/2 foot heat-resistant cord and 1/32" fine-point tip for precision soldering
  • Easy-reach adjustable soldering iron holder, with vented steel safety cover for heat dissipation
  • Tip-wiping sponge

We recommend: Order a chisel tip for soldering connections to the back of a control pot or grounding a wire to a tremolo claw. It's also handy for steaming out wood dents with a damp cloth.

#0501 is a 110-volt AC electrical appliance, 60Hz. It has a U.S. standard Type A plug with two flat parallel prongs, ungrounded.

#0601 is a 220-volt AC electrical appliance, 50Hz. It has an international plug Type C (Europlug) with two round prongs, ungrounded.

This is what you need

Started out years ago doing pickup swaps using a plug in iron and quickly decided to upgrade. I didn't want to spend the money on a station like this so I found something for less than half the price. It was an upgrade but I knew right away that the temperature readout was inaccurate and I had to turn it all the way up to solder any grounds to the back of pots. So when that unit failed I decided to buy this one. All I can say is that the old saying is true: you get what you pay for. If you do a lot of soldering - even if it's just weekends - this is what you need. In fact, in terms of price, it's actually a bargain for a real pro-grade station. Working with this station is a joy compared to what I was using in the past, and my work always looks really professional now. Also, if you are going to build an amp kit I would say that this unit is an absolute necessity - nothing less is going to cut it.

My other 2 solder irons were not working too well. I tried this one. Heats up fast, acurate temp, pointy tip makes it very easy to use.

The very best soldering station on the market. Exacting control on the temperature, easy maneuvering iron, long-lasting. Absolutely essential for your workbench!

Great iron

I’m a bad soldering guy, I had an iron I got off of Amazon and I had nothing but problems using it. Between the dial setting and it being either to hot or to cold resulting in a very bad solder job. I like the digital readout for setting the temp and monitoring the temp. My solder joints are 10X better and I’m not seeing scorch marks on the PCB. To me it was well worth the price!

Definitely recommended.
Very nice upgrade from the old RadioShack I've had for 20 plus years.

Replaced a low watt inexpensive iron I had for years. This is superior by leaps and bounds. Easy to use and dial in the temperatures you need. Look forward to many happy years of soldering with this.

An essential tool that holds up

At the shop I work at, this soldering iron has been a workhorse and withstands near daily use for hours on end. It's so great that I bought one for myself to use at home. I've used many soldering irons over the years, but this one is the best. The variable temperature is a very useful feature that makes more delicate work much less tedious.

Great quality

A very nicely made-quality iron. I only wish I had bought this first instead of messing around with other brands! There was a problem with my order-I had ordered a couple of extra tips, but couldnt find them anywhere in the packaging. I contacted them and they rushed out the 2 tips to me-no questions asked! ( not expensive items-but still its the principal). They have the best customer service Ive ever encountered in my 60 plus years-and will continue to get my money!

Bought this to replace a cheapo iron. Leaps and bounds superior. It reminded me how unfamiliar I am with the metric system, c'mon it's not that tough! Good purchase.
