Golden Age Wiring Jig

About This Item

Hold your pots and switches in place while you solder—everything is accurately spaced so you can trim the wires for an exact fit. Your wiring harness will fit neatly into the cavity with no fuss.

  • Ready-made jig with accurate spacing for brand name guitars
  • Durable plywood that you'll use over and over again

"It's soooo much easier than trying to wire things up when they're sunken down in the control cavity!"
—Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Smart soldering, outside of the guitar
Soldering is easier and cleaner when using a wiring jig. You can work outside of the guitar cavity with clear access to the electronics, and you won't scorch the walls of the control cavity with a hot soldering iron.

This is exactly what I needed to simplify rewiring process on my basses. On a good day my soldering skills are mid level at best. If I move slowly and carefully the end result is quite good. This simple little wiring jig makes it easier For me to do a good job. On a price performance basis, this is a winner. I bought the Jazz bass version too.

Great Jig!

I originally bought a few of these to use as templates to make cuttingboards. I ended up just a few days later having to rewire a P bass and used the jig. by far the cleanest solder job I've done; just held everything in place and made my life really easy

The templates save me time, material and frustration. Easy to use and much better than the homemade thin card board I have been using.

Convenient

I know most of us could whip something like this up in just a few minutes, but as I was already placing an order I grabbed one. It is handy for getting your wiring job started. It is much easier to solder outside of the guitar cavity. For a few dollars, I am happy to have a reusable wiring jig.

I used this jig to pre-solder 4 pots with grounding wire and orange caps prior to installing in guitar cavity. Made the job way easier. Given the low cost, it's almost a no brainer!

So much easier than wiring the controls in the body.

This made wiring the controls for a Les Paul clone a breeze. I haven't used the Strat and Tele wiring jigs yet, but I will be relying on these when I do.
I did leave a little slack on the ground jumper, the holes for the pots on the body of this copy were just a bit farther apart than on the jig, and it worked perfectly.
The amount of solder splatter on the jig and NOT on the guitar makes these a must have for anyone doing 1 or 100 rewires.
