I purchased one of these blanks , to cut a pickguard out that I couldn't buy from any suppliers . My first try was pretty good and looks fine and the second will be much better . These pickguard blanks are very good quality and worth buying .

Good choice, and even had the SAME "Made In Kolea" sticker on the back, as did the original! LOL!

I used this to make black control cavity covers for a StewMac LP kit. I didn't care for the cream colored ones, like those Gibson uses, that came with it. I rough-cut them with a pull-saw. Then I did something I saw Dan Erlewine do to shape pickup mounting rings to a Les Paul body. I used a pair of side-cutters (he used fret nippers which I also have) to "nibble the shape almost to the outline. Then I sanded it with 600 grit. A little time consuming but - slow and easy wins the race. The result? Excellent. The plastic is a little softer than I would have liked so it is likely to be scratched up in use easier than I would like too. I'll have to wait and see. So far, I like it a lot.

Worked for me

Purchased a sheet of the thickest version of this product. The price was quite reasonable. So far, I’ve fabricated two control cavity tops with pots and jacks mounted, and a pickup ring for a P bass clone project. I was concerned about the plates flexing when unplugging the cord from the jack, but so far it seems pretty strong. I would like to see it just a bit thicker....it’s just a bit thinner than a 3 ply pick guard. I mounted a Dremel tool under a piece of plywood and made a little mini router table to do my shaping. It was fun tooling the stuff, and was cool removing the protective film at the end to reveal the final product.

I made a pickguard for an LP special and it turned out great. Easy to cut with a coping saw and finish with files and fine sandpaper. I used the semi-gloss side as the guitar has a worn finish. P.S. It's a BIG piece and will get many guards out of it!

Product worked great easy to work with, even with the wrong tools. razor blade and a flat file, if I had made a sturdy template, even easier.
