Bleached White Bone Saddles

Bleached White Bone Saddles

Stewart-MacDonald is your source for quality bone!
Bone's hardness and density contributes to good tone, it polishes well, and it allows more precise filing. Bone is traditionally preferred for making nuts and saddles on quality instruments.

Shaped saddles will save you a LOT of work—a head start for the novice, and a timesaver for the busy shop. The sizes have been carefully researched, and accurately radiused, so that minor trimming, slotting, and sanding are usually all you'll need to do.

Blank saddles have oversize length and height, for custom shaping in your shop. They're ready for trimming, filing, sanding and slotting.

Bone Blanks for Nuts and Saddles- A+

By

Verified Buyer

I've been using these bone blanks from StewMac for years, on my custom made acoustic guitars. They are consistently good quality, hard, dense bone, no defects, and StewMac takes the time to precisely dimension them. That really matters, and you know what I'm talking about if you've ever made a nut or a saddle. I've bought bone blanks from other suppliers, and none of them are as consistently good as these blanks from StewMac.

Bone is great to have around

By

Verified Buyer

These are great to have around for a reasons only partially applicable to their give name, I.E. Martin Bridge. A variety of sizes are always good to have in the tool kit for most any need when a nice hard piece of material such as banjo nuts and bridge inlays, mandolin nuts, guitar nuts and bridges is needed, the nice even white of a bleached bone even make good inlays. One thing I really don't understand, why are bleached bones less expensive than unbleached bone, how much does it cost NOT to bleach a bone? So, buy some for your project at hand, then add a few more for stock.

bleached white bone saddle

I used the over-sized blank to replace the sloppy-fitting plastic saddle in an old Kay acoustic. It took a lot of cutting, sanding and filing, but the result was well worth the effort! WOW! what a difference! I'll bet this guitar never sounded this good even when it was new!

I've used this bone saddle for many years, and I've never received a "less than top shelf quality" saddle material from StewMac! These bone saddles work very easily, and respond to my customers expectations upon hearing the difference in the richness, and sharpness in sound quality from their guitar! Way to go, StewMac!
