ColorTone Aerosol Finishing Set for Vintage White

About This Item

Get the perfectly aged look of a vintage white finish at home
Here’s everything you need for a vintage white finish without complicated and expensive spray equipment. Don't waste hours endlessly chasing down the materials you need—we've done the hard work for you!

This Vintage White is an opaque color, which we formulated to match an aged version of the Fender classic Olympic White.

Professional results anywhere
ColorTone nitrocellulose aerosols are designed for professional finishing. These aerosols are easy to apply—even if you're a beginner you'll get a finish you'll be proud of. Nitro lacquer is the traditional choice for fine instruments, and is what guitars from the Golden Era were finished with.

Completely finish one instrument from start to finish.
It's all there—from filling the pores to spraying the final clear coat. Our R&D team worked hard to make this set the easiest way to get a professional-quality finish. The aerosols are simple to apply and go on smooth, even for beginners.

"I see a lot of vintage guitars in my shop. Most aerosols don't really come close to looking like the colors they are intended to. These ColorTone finishes nail the look of vintage beauties I've had on my bench."
—Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Ventage White on a Strat Style Guitar Build.

This was the first guitar build for me. I've never finished a guitar much less built one. Purchased the guitar parts from various sourced. This was not a kit guitar. I was looking for the best way to put a finish on it. Watched many YouTube videos and settled on Stew Mac's aerosol spray vintage white kit. The kit came with everything but the sand paper and the finish polish. Purchased the sandpaper needed from Stew Mac as well. Followed the directions that came with the kit and the results were much better than anticipated. Made a few mistakes along the way but see it as lessons learned being it was my first finish. The end result was much better than I expected. Important tips: Do not set up a paint shop in your home. Even with good ventilation it is not a good idea. Had to use a open sided carport. Controlling the dust in your finish for me was very difficult. Got a few tiny dust particles in my finish as a result. Find a good ventilated area where you can keep the dust out and get yourself a good paint mask and you'll be fine.
