About This Item

Cleans and lubes strings and fretboards.
Fast Fret™ has been a favorite of working guitarists since its introduction back in the 1970s.

Great conditioner and cleaner

I've been using Fast Fret for years. I have a can in my amp rack and on my work bench. I'm still using a can that is at least 5 years old. And the pad is still plenty wet. The pad is showing wear, but that is expected. It really keeps the strings nice and clean and conditions the fretboard . There is a noticeable difference when play again. I use it on the back of the fretboard. Wipe it down and you have nice slick strings and a slick fretboard. Much better to play.

Good all these years

I bought a can of Fast Fret when it was first introduced by GHS, which I believe was in the mid 1970s. I used it and was happy with the way it allowed my fingers to move so quickly while suppressing the noise of round-wound strings. It also keeps strings from corroding. I bought more over the years and recommended it to all sorts of string players (even a cellist used it on the fingerboard end of the strings). In all these years, I've found no down side to using Fast Fret. Acoustics, electrics, mandolin, 12 strings, bass... its all good. When I lost my last tin, I ordered another from StewMac. But while looking for the lost tin, I found my first tin from the 70s. Here's a picture of the original can and the newest one. If you haven't tried this stuff yet, try it and see if you like it too.

Less squeak

By

High tension nylon classical strings, dry fingers, and fast changes- all wound strings and enough squeak to be distracting. Add Fast Frett and the squeak is almost gone. I sound more like I am what I would be. No build up and seemingly, after using it for weeks, no deadening of the sound. I did find that a good wipe down with Stew Mac's treated cloth kept the string oxidation down and kept the top finish bright.

Works for me!

I tried this years ago and it wasn't my favorite product for the task. Now it is! My fingers perspire and make the strings sticky. Fast fret fixes that. I think I'll get one for each axe, and make it a point to treat the strings as I wipe it down each time.

So far so good

Easy to use, waiting to see if my steels tarnish. May be a while. Fingers seem to hurt less over a long practice. Better than the spray on stuff. Comes in a storage tin and a wipe cloth. Nicely packaged.
