Acoustic Guitar Shipping System

About This Item

Take the pain out of shipping guitars
Let's face it. Shipping guitars is a pain. It's hard (and expensive) to track down a box, buy the necessary packing materials—tape, peanuts, etc. By the time you're done you've got the better part of an afternoon frittered away, and you've spent enough for a nice meal just getting the guitar in the box! And…this doesn't even account for shipping fees.

This particular set is for shipping an acoustic guitar in a case or gig bag. However, if you're looking for a solution without a case, we have those sets as well.

Here's how it works!
First our boxes ship to you folded in half, this means they're much less expensive to ship, more convenient to store, and easier to handle.

But don't let a folded box fool you. This system includes a structural support that not only reinforces the box at the fold, but also locks the guitar in place, making the box super strong and keeping your guitar super safe! This ingenious little device secures the most critical part of your guitar—the neck!

But, a great shipping solution is more than just a box.
Peanuts are the worst! They're messy, expensive, and horrible for the environment. Packing paper shifts around in transit and doesn't offer much protection.

Aeris designed brand new, state-of-the-art inflatables that are tough as nails, light as air, and offer the most protection we've ever seen. The headstock is locked in place with a top-hat pad, and the base padding protects the guitar from drops and rough handling.

You can customize the inflatable supports to fit any guitar or case you have. They inflate easily with our hand pump or your own compressor. It only takes minutes and they stay inflated for years! (Try that with bubble wrap!)

If you need it, we've got air filling solutions that work perfectly for these inflatables.

And they're economical too!
When you add up all the hours, gas, and money you'll spend buying boxes and packing materials (that really don't work that well), you're actually saving money with this one-step system.

So now, with one purchase, you're ready to pack and ship any guitar. Just grab your tape and you're good to go!

    Easy to use

I used the Stew Mac boxes for shipping 3 guitars with cases. It quick and easy. I used the optional hand pump for blowing up the end caps and had no problems. This is much easier than scrounging around for the right size boxes and buying rolls of bubble wrap.

    Easy to ship a guitar

This new system makes it very easy to ship a guitar. I have shipped 3 so far with this system. The caps were not hard to correctly inflate with a compressor. I could carefully pulse the air in with a hand controlled inflator. I tried one with a hand pump— again no problem. The whole system is very expensive. If you can get the boxes elsewhere and just purchase the caps, you will be ahead. The inflated caps make a much lighter shipment without the mess of the packing materials.

    Great shipping system for guitars!

Nearly all my custom guitar clients live hundreds, or thousands of miles away from me, so I always have to ship. There's always a risk, and it is stress-inducing to ship a guitar worth multi-thousands $$ over long distances.

I started using the Aeris system to ship guitars last year, when StewMac announced this great new product. It's a big stress reliever, as I know the guitar inside the case, inside the box is about as well protected as it's possible to be- suspended on all sides by the Aeris inflatable cushioning, inside a tough, durable carton. The air units are tough and durable too, and if one chamber gets punctured, the others stay inflated, like bubble wrap, so it still works. I tested one early on- inflated both pieces and kept them for eight months. They did not deflate at all in all that time!

I always advise my customers, if the box is still in good shape when their guitar arrives, hang onto the box, the spacer insert, and the inflatables- they can be used again. The box is quite sturdy, and barring an accidental forklift ram, it should be fine for a second journey.

I've had several very long distance guitar shipments this year- from Gulf Coast to Hawaii, the Pacific NW, and one to the UK. As an excess of caution, I further fortify the box with 1/4" plywood inserts, cut to fit snugly on the top, bottom, and sides of the shipping box. This makes the package a lot more crush proof. And that helps me stay calm while my guitars are in transit.

As many of my colleagues know, shipping via USPS Priority, there is a maximum size box they will ship. The formula is, length plus girth of the box has to be 108 inches or less. The Aeris box (for acoustic guitars) measures 48" x 20" x 9"; The length plus girth, 48" + 20" + 20"+ 9" + 9" = 106", which is just inside that USPS size restriction. Clearly, Aeris really thought this out well.

I've also found that my clients are glad to pay an extra $25 or so for packaging, to cover my cost, when I send them a link to the StewMac website so they can watch the demo video on the Aeris system. They really appreciate that extra level of care.

Use the Aeris System. It's a real game changer for shipping valuable instruments safely.
