Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Pads

About This Item

Extra-gentle hand polishing for high-gloss finishes. Each pad features Micro-Mesh® resilient abrasive on both sides of a foam center. The cushioning allows gentle polishing of finished surfaces to a mirror gloss.

The set of nine pads includes #1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grits. Use the grits in sequence to achieve a super gloss.

Micro-Mesh features tiny abrasive crystals on resilient cloth-backed latex. These gentle "cushioned" particles generate less heat and friction than ordinary finishing papers, don't load up as quickly, and last up to 15 times longer.

Use Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Pads with a little soapy water as a lubricant to produce a scratch-free mirror shine (avoiding soaking the pads in water when not in use). We use these regularly in our own shops for finish touch-ups and repairing scratches on pickguards. Use them on for polishing frets, too.

A Great End To A Neck Nick Repair

By

Verified Buyer

I used these to finish up a nick repair on my guitar neck. They were fantastic. By the time I got to the 12,000 grit, the wood was already looking polished. I just used some guitar polish as in Dan's video and the completed project was better than expected.

These did great and I was able to use them for a couple neck before they in my opinion seem to be worn out. They did what needed to be done as advertised.

This would be the second purchase of these pads. These pads are durable and can be used for a variety of jobs. Whether it is fret polishing, spot repair of a finish, they will do an outstanding job. I have used these to polish frets and when spot repair the finish. They are durable and last for a long time.

Prior to buying these I was a little disappointed in the look of the Tru Oil finish I put on my tele build, but after running through all nine of these it shines beautifully!

smooth fret tangs

By

My ebony fret board has shrunk a tad and the bottom of the tangs are just sticking a sharp edge out along the side of the fret board. So I used a couple of the micro mesh pads to just take the sharp edge off. Worked great. I may use them to round the edge of the fret board as well.

Best product I've used for finishing frets!

By

This product is amazing. I've tried other items, fret erasers and the like but these pads work better than any of them. I just used the color chart provided, lined them up on my bench, wet them a touch and went through each grit in order. By the time I got to the highest grit, the finish was incredible. Some items boast a mirror shine but the pads did exactly that. Plus, I had pre-lacquered my maple fret board before installing frets and as I moved up each fret, I removed my tape protecting the fretboard and used the pads in ascending order of grit to see the result. The board polished up beautifully.
Nice one StewMac

Great Product, Easy to Use!

I've been using these for small touch ups on my guitar projects and they are really easy and dependable to provide the finish I desire. Yesterday I figured I'd tackle the yellow scummy crap fogging my headlights...I used 0000 steel wool and car polish as recommended by my neighbor that's a car detailer...well that took of the scum but left a totally scratched up lens. I used these little pads and wet sanded from 1500 all the way down to 12000 and then polished the lens. They are like new...

Worked great for fret polishing

By

I used these to polish the frets on an Squire Affinity telecaster. The frets were rough and dull. I taped up the entire fret board, then started polishing the frets going up in the grits. These were just the right size for the job and once I finished with these pads, I used some metal polish for the final buff. The frets are smooth as glass now and string bends are now super easy. Total job time was about 2 hours. I plan to do 3 more of my guitars just to freshen them up.
