Good Quality

Upgraded my LP Style with this wiring kit. Good quality especially the gold toggle switch that is very smooth operation. Once everything is installed, grounded properly it's a very quiet and quality kit. Insure yourself of doing a good job by installing shielding foil or paint and there's no need to ever open it back up. Tip if you install this toggle in the LP Style. The toggle is longer and takes up more space. I had to use a dremel to route out the wiring path quite a bit for enough wire clearance.

As good as expecred

I bought this wiring kit to put in an Ibanez Artcore semi hollow that I gutted. This was originally a 1V, 1T that i turned into an SG/ Les Paul type. I'm glad I had spare wiring because the extra holes I drilled were rather far apart and the wire quantity is minimal. The wiring worked very well. The switches and pots were excellent. I'm glad I went with StewMac.

Gives you enough and more

I used this kit to rewire an old Hondo II Les Paul and had no issues, the cavity for the toggle switch was a bit cramped opposed to what came original but wasn't an issue.
All the components seem to be of good quality and the pots turn nicely. You're given just enough wire plus enough for couple small mistakes (eg. Damaging the wire when stripping off insulation)

Had everything I needed to replace the scratchy, noisy pots in this Epiphone Les Paul. The pots were not as good quality as I would have liked but they're quiet and work smoothly. I also bought better quality caps- the kit only had one cap in it- I think that was a mistake in packaging.

Perfect except...

I bought this based on the advice of StewMac staff for a Peerless made Epiphone Rivera semi hollow body. It’s designed for solid body Gibsons and I was assured it would work. The kit was great and works perfect except the Switchmaster output jack does not fit the metric hole. It’s too short. I called and they offered to sell me a one that fits which would have been fine but the minimum postage would be too much. I opted to reuse the one I took out. I would recommend this kit. Just make sure everything fits before you order it.

Perfect way to upgrade the tone of cheap clone.

I used this on a 1970s era Cortez LP clone (replacing the neck PUp cap with a .047) and it was well worth the price. All quality components at a great price. The only thing I am going to swap out is the caps (to orange drops), after the customer gives me a thumbs up on the values.

Gets the job done if you get he right size.

Long shaft didn't fit my gibson-ish les paul so i had to reorder the short shaft ones...minor thing. The caps that came with this kit sounded more treble than orange caps i later installed. All in all everthing worked when all hooked up and didn't have to use additional materials to get the job done.

Nice kit

Everything fit nicely, worked great, just would have appreciated a little more instructions. Wasn't sure which wire was for what. Ended up with extra wire and still wonder where it was supposed to go. Not a major deal. Just puzzling. :)

Kit is good, Free Wiring Diagram, not so much.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Custom and it's relic-ed the old fashioned way, by playing it almost every day for 15 or 20 years. A little too dear to routinely take out into the mud the blood and the beer.

I decided to get a "Les Paul Like" guitar for cheap and upgrade it. I happened to get an Xaviere XV-500. You can have one of these delivered to your door for about $260.00 brand new. I got mine used for $160.00.

I installed this kit and had an instantly, noticeably better guitar. Nice improvement! From this I will say that these are quality components and certainly worth their price.

The problem I had was the "Free Wiring Diagram." I've never wired a Les Paul. I've done very little guitar wiring. I didn't know there was more than one way to do it. I couldn't figure their Wiring Diagram out, at all. Not to worry, I knew what to do. Go to StewMac website and find the video of Dan Erlewine showing his peeps how the big boys do it and making us aware of the tools that will make the job easier. Ahhh, I couldn't find that video.

YouTube was more confusion. What I did know is I wanted to get it right the first time. I was baffled. Then I thought, "Ahhh, dude, you have a Gibson Les Paul in the next room. Why don't you wire it like that one?" So I did and I did get it right the first time. It's wired with the "Modern" wiring. I don't know if that's how this kit is supposed to be wired but it seems to work fine and it was a nice upgrade.

Now, after the fact, I can recommend a YouTube video that is an excellent and clear guide for the "Modern or Vintage" wiring methods. DIY Les Paul Wiring - Vintage versus Modern by Breja ToneWorks.
