This 30 year old guitar has never sounded so good. Bridge pu was a humbucker but I found an adapter to use a single coil.

Neck 6.2k Ohms Alinco 2
Middle 5.7k ohms Alinco 5
Bridge 7.2 ohms Alinco 5

The flatwork is not the same as it was before. It’s more like plastic, thicker and not vulcanized fibre.The distance between the mounting holes are too narrow and not aligned with a original pickguard and pickup cover.The holes are threaded wich is not good. The screw should tread the flatwork it self if it was of a good quality. The compressible tubing is too small for the screws, impossible to assamble and are squased for no adjustment.
Sorry, but the earlier once were much better.

I call this one the Test-a-caster. Top loading hard-tail bridge, Mighty-Mite neck (both from Stewmac), home-made Swamp ash body. Very dark green stain with soft black-burst at edges (doesn't photograph well - camera adjusts to white pick guard!).

Designed for quick pick guard changes so I can wind and try different pickup combinations. Currently has 2 Fender 57/62 pickups in the front 2 positions with a 5.9k ohm Alnico 2 pickup in the bridge made from a Stewmac kit.

Pickup kits have been great for dialing in "the right" bridge pickup.

I built my son a partscaster, and installed Fender 57/62 pickups. It sounded and played great, but he's a real Pink Floyd fan and I had been wanting to try making pickups for a while. I decided to make a set of "Black Strat" pickups from the Stewmac Alnico 5 kit. It took a few tries to get the right tension and get all the winds on the spool - especially with the 43 guage and 13000+ winds on the bridge pickup, but once I got it down, the pickups turned out great and sound fantastic! 12.8 k ohm bridge, 5.8 k ohm middle, 6.0 k ohm neck pickkup. 43 gauge, 42 gauge and 42 guage wire, respectively. CTS pots, CRL selector, SPST mini-toggle for "Tele switch", and Switchcraft output jack. Wax potted with 80% paraffin/20% beeswax.

Follow the directions and you shouldn't have any problems putting these together.

Sorry but the holes for the megnets in the upper bobin are a bit to close which makes the pickup doesn't fit in a standard cover. Otherwise top kit.

I have purchased three single coil pickups for a strat build and found that my strat pickup guard screws did not align with my pickup holes. It wasn't a huge deal and nothing a small file can't fix but you expect to buy a strat pickup kit and a strat pick up guard from the same manufacturer, I would have expected everything to align better than they did.

For beginners and for the more advanced. Very convenient and makes a quality pickup.
