I bought this bargain loaded pickup ($52!) for a Squier Strat rebuild and, considering the price, it exceeded my expectations.

This loaded pick guard is ideal when years of soldering and unfortunate mods have destroyed an old Strat. Having clean, working components in one simple package makes the job a snap.

Pre Wired Pickguard Assembly

I purchased this to breath some life into an Indonesian Squire Affinity. There are no instructions included with the kit. You should reuse the wiring to the trem and cavity grounds, You get a new input jack and wiring as well. Overall soldering requirement is low.
The pick guard is single ply and only one or two mounting holes lined up. I take it that there are a few different screw patterns between squires and fenders. This will require drilling into you guitar. I had expected this after reading other reviews.
The wiring is very tidy, very professional looking. The knobs look like the originals. The overall black on black looks actually really great on the tobacco burst.
The sound is very nicely balanced between pickups. The pickups are an improvement over what had come with the guitar.
I have to say that for the cost this was a very good upgrade and done in less than an hour including a restring.
I like the black so much that I bought new black tuners that should be here this week.
This wasn't very hard, just be prepared for a little soldering and some drilling. At least after the drilling you can take any new Strat pick guards.

I bought this for my Strat as the old one was getting a bit on the slow side and to also brighten my guitar up a bit.
It is still in the box yet and will fit it when time is there looks great.

Respectable electronics

Ditch the pick guard. Everything else is put together very well and the pickups are very good for the money. It brought my second hand squier back to life. Stewmac did a great job with the entire package; I’ll definitely patronize again.

Good iaxe repl.

I have a behringer iaxe 393 that died. Tried the cheapo pre-wired kits on amazon and still had a ground short. The guard on this is bigger so I swapped the parts over to the old guard and it sounds great. I also disconnected the usb and headphone jacks as I dont use them.

Great value

I bought this to hopefully bring a Fender Squire back to life without spending a fortune. I know Mythbusters proved you could, but I prefer not to spend an inordinate amount of time and money polishing a turd. I was hoping it would be a drop-in fit but it wasn’t, and I would have drilled new holes but the finish had faded leaving gaps. So... I did what some others did and used the old pickguard. Good news is that wasn’t a difficult task to swap the electronics. The guitar sounds great! Nice and clear, punchy, good for rhythm, wide dynamics - no compression. Only downside is the pickups seem to be somewhat muddy on the bass side, that might be an easy fix by raising or lowering the pickups. I will experiment. Overall it was a great choice for a quick repair to a Squire - don’t even think about doing this to a real Strat.

First off I’m not a great guitarist. But I worked for 14 years mixing live sound so I know good from bad sound. My star rating is based on what I got for what I paid.I have a Korean Squire I bought back in 93 nothing great but still sounded nice, but the pots were getting noisy.Saw this preloaded pick guard on sale for $40.00 I had a $15.00 Christmas coupon so for $25.00 plus shipping it’s not much to loose. Received it quickly but was missing the volume knob, a replacement was sent out the day I called, good customer service. Pickups were wired cleanly with nice solder joints. Fit well pretty just much solder to the jack and good to go. But as others have stated the pickup guard itself was inferior to my original, so I moved everything over. I did foil line the cavity and the pick guard back and wire the bridge pickup to the tone control. Put it all back together reset up the guitar and it sounds great. Nice clean sounds, switch and pots function as they should. Worth the $25.00 yes. Should I have just bought individual parts? Maybe but more work. Does it sound better than the original pickups? Yes a bit. Did it turn my Squire into a $2500. American strat? No. Did I expect it would? No. But gee that would have been nice. StewMac is a good company I always gotten what I paid for. And great service. If you need a inexpensive fix for a guitar in need these work well. Just my 2 cents ALOHA
