Pickup Spring Tubing

About This Item

Just like on vintage Fenders, this rubber tubing avoids microphonic feedback and rattles that metal pickup springs can cause.

An alternative to coil springs; simply cut to length and slide over your height screws. 1-foot length, 1/4" diameter.

Perfect solution to fix annoying vibration

By

Verified Buyer

I have a Gibson ES 275 archtop that had a very annoying sympathetic vibration that was being caused by the pickup springs touching the sides of the mounting holes. The vibration was so bad that it was actually affecting the tone of the guitar. This surgical tubing was the perfect fix. The diameter is just the right size to snugly fit onto the mounting screws. After installation the guitar played and sounded better without all the rattling and vibrations. I will be switching all of my guitars over using this tubing.

Good for Thinner Screws, Not Good for Tele Bridge Screws

Quarter inch tubing works good for thinner single coil screws. But the tubing is too small for standard 6 x 32 screws that are typically used with the Telecaster bridge pickups.

Setting the Pick Up Highth on my '50s Series Strat

By

I set out to find out about buying new springs to hold the bridge pick-up on my '50s Series Strat. So I get under the Pick hard and find out the Pick-ups are held on with sugical tubing instead of a typical spring. That's where Stew Mac came in and the exact part I needed. So what I ordered was a minimum amount which in turn was enough to replace all three pick-ups with new springs! Plenty enough left over to replace another Strat again easy! Great job Stew Mac!

Nice way to remove the springs on your Tele pickups and go with a better idea. Easy to use and puts your guitar more like a Fender.

I have been looking for the right diameter tubing in a lot of places. All I could find was much larger diameter stuff. This is the perfect diameter for the pickup screws Thank you

Good Spares...

Re-doing a Fender Tele body (2010) and the ones installed are fairly old, soft and cracking, especially the bridge ones. Nice to have some extras on hand with the long tubing. Once I replace the ones in the Tele, I should finally be able to adjust the PU's..

turns liquidy after time.

I personally just dont like this stuff, the metal springs work much better; performance, and last forever. I used this plastic tubing because it came with the Golden Age Tele pickups, but after time I noticed they were not performing that well so I checked them out and they were cracked and turning into a sticky mess. So I scraped all the mess off and put the springs from the old pickups on and they worked so much better.

Great replacement tubing for Fender pickups

By

I bought this to help replace some of the original pickup spacers on my Fender pickups. Yes, I had to cut the tubing to length, but that was no biggie since I had the original spacers. A little snip here and there and I was back up and running.
