CAIG DeoxIT Pot & Switch Cleaner

About This Item

Cleans electrical contacts for better sound. The one-step spray for cleaning dirty, noisy control pots and switches in guitars and amps!

CAIG Laboratories DeoxIT® removes oxidation from electrical contacts, leaving a microscopic layer of protection and improving conductivity. It helps keep pots and switches operating smoothly, quietly and reliably for better sound. You can avoid costly repairs, and help preserve the value of vintage instruments by maintaining the original components with DeoxIT™. Supplied in 5-ounce aerosol can.

TIP: Aerosol contact cleaners can spray cold, and can potentially crack a guitar's finish. Always protect the finish with a cloth when cleaning pots and switches.

When cleaning CTS brand pots, use DeoxIT with the Pot Cleaning Cap. This time-saving attachment lets you keep control pots clean and noise-free, without extracting them from your guitar or amp.

No more crackling pots on my amp

By

I bought an older Marshall DSL 40C, when I fired it up there was heavy static with the volume and gain knobs. I unplugged, took the knobs off, sprayed into the pots, dried the outside, repeated a few times, and the problem was completely resolved. Great product.

Spray Great! pot cap and straw Hmmm

By

Verified Buyer

Straw wouldn't fit so the rest of the game was useless.
BUT the spray worked fantastic! and super quick.
So while I had the back off I tightened a jack on the SG and switch on another.
So except for the money spent for the whole kit not just the spray I'm ahead of the game.
Lets say I broke even.
But the spray is EXCELLENT, best I ever used and I've been playing since 68'

It is what you need .

I have tried other cleaners in the past or I would just replace the Pot or Switch . Sometimes that is a solution . Cleaning a switch before removing it is another . I will now try cleaning before removal with DeoxIT from now on . It seems to clean better and not leave anything behind .

Saved me a trip to the guitar tech

I used DeoxIT to fix a faulty switch that wasn't working in the first and second position. Problem cleared in seconds and I didn't have to give up my guitar to the tech for days and pay several times the price for a repair.

Cleaned up my pots

By

Verified Buyer

I bought this because I saw the video for it, and my 1978 Twin Reverb had a lot of noise whenever I adjusted any of the controls. I followed the directions, cleaned my amp inside and out (with some ArmorAll on the outside) and now my amp looks and sounds as good as when I bought it 40 years ago. Classic and clean!

Used this to clean up noisy pots on ‘65 Princeton Reverb and the 5-way switch and volume pot of my cheap electric guitar. Cleaned up the crackle and noisy pots and switches as advertised. Would recommend this product.

Had a scratchy switch on a 1981 ES 335. Popped every time it was thrown. just a shot took care of it. Silent now.

Being a 70 yr. old veteran of electric guitar, playing since 66, the son of an electrician, Iv'e seen many brands of electrical contact cleaner , some too weak, and some too strong. All of those chemical contact cleaners were envioromentally toxic. Deoxit is the best cleaner on the planet, It may be a little toxic, but a little goes a long way, works great, and I always have it on my bench!
