TUSQ Saddles

TUSQ Saddles

Man-made ivory from Graph Tech, for enhanced tone and sustain.

Available in convenient ready-made shapes and sizes, TUSQ® bridge saddles are preferred by many acoustic guitarmakers for rich tone and sustain. TUSQ is an advanced polymer that's formed under high heat and pressure for uniform density. It's designed to transfer string energy more efficiently, to make guitars come alive with enhanced harmonics, volume and sustain. Final trimming required; please measure your bridge slot before ordering.

"TUSQ nuts and saddles have improved the sustain and clarity of our guitars. We now use them on all models." —Bob Taylor, Taylor Guitars

Great product!

Installed this on an early 2000's Harmony Sovereign reissue (Buck Owens red, white and blue) to replace the horrible plastic saddle it came with. The string compensation provides for almost perfect intonation, and the tone took a big step up!

Terrific saddles!

By

Verified Buyer

I bought this to replace a client's cheap plastic collapsed saddle. And as usual, very easy to work with. All I had to do was shave a tiny bit off the bottom edge on my belt/disc sander. Intonation was dead on! These saddles, nuts, and bridge pins really do give your guitar(s) a fuller well balanced sound and tone. Thanks a lot, Stew-Mac and GraphTech!

Compensated tusq saddles RULE

Love the 16" radius for Martins, et al. All you need is sandpaper, elbow grease and a bit of patience. I also refitted with tusq bridge pins and nut. A real upgrade, significantly improved tone and sustain.

Excellence the goods arrive early prior to the schedule.
I've changed it to Guild Westerly Collection, it fit the slot and have no problem with intonation.

TUSQ saddle improves tone

By

On an 'inexpensive' Yamaha (GF720) this saddle (along with a PlateMate and set of Ivoroid pins) brought out a bit more treble response. I'll be putting a TUSQ saddle on my Martin 12-string soon!

Your best bet!

If you're looking to replace your current saddle, this is your best bet for tone! Better than bone especially if it sits atop a piezo pickup. Excellent quality.

Good quality -- but beware bluish color!

By

Verified Buyer

TUSQ material is hard, as advertised. The saddle itself was well formed, but I was disappointed at how cold blue/gray the color of the "ivory" was, which does not really come through on the images on-line. This was at compete odds with the warm tones of my guitar's woods and finish -- so much so that I ended up using an unbleached bone saddle instead. (Even bleached bone would be warmer in color. Imagine the difference between florescent and incandescent lightbulbs and you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about.)
