Sperzel Trim-Lok 6-In-Line Guitar Machines

About This Item

Sperzel's rear thumbscrew locks the string, making these machines ideal for tremolo guitars. For 6-in-line pegheads.

The string posts on 6-in-line sets have graduated height (no string trees needed). Cast gear housings with sealed lubrication. Single pin mount keeps tuner from rotating, no mounting screws needed. Recommended for 1/2" - 9/16" (12.7mm - 14.29mm) thick pegheads.

• 12:1 ratio
• 10mm (13/32") diameter pegholes required
• Removable metal knobs
• Threaded peghead bushings included
• Sets of 6

Staggered string posts:
The Sperzel 6-in-line tuners feature 3 heights of string posts in each set. The tallest two tuners are used on the E and A strings, the medium length posts are used on the D and G strings, and the shortest two posts are for the B and E strings. This allows the E, B, G, and D strings to have a steeper angle off the nut than with traditional tuners — eliminating the need for string trees.

Locked Down

By

Verified Buyer

I purchased a new neck from Warmoth and placed these tuners and new strings on my So-Cal Strat and they hold like crazy. These machine heads make changing strings quick and easy while holding tight for tuning stability. My upgraded guitar never slides out of tune while playing and only requires minor tuning adjustments if any when i pull it out of my gig bag. The staggered machine height means no string trees. The only thing I would change is adding an auto-trem feature so you do not have to use wire cutters for the excess string length at the headstock.

Great for Tele/Strat: Stabilises tuning and eliminates the need for string trees

By

I have had these on a Tele build since November and love them. Advantages include:
Locking system eliminates multiple string wraps around post - less stretch and better stability.
Fast, easy string changes.
Tapered string post heights eliminate need for string trees - nice, uncluttered headstock.
Light weight - lighter, less top-heavy guitar.

I do wish the gear ratio was a little higher, but they work fine and I've had no problem hitting exact pitch. You just have to be a little gentle with the fine tuning.

Not my first set of Sperzels. I put a set on another guitar close to 20 years ago, and I'm still using them w/o any troubles. Quality product.

Sperzel locking tuners a nice replacement

I used these Sperzel locking tuners on a G&L Fallout and they have worked beautifully. Once I realized they did not have a 10 mm nut, I made an adjustment and things went smoothly. Very glad I made this purchase.

They work!

I would say don't use the provided hole guide as the hole location was off. Use the actual tuners and maybe put some marker juice on the metal dowel.

They look great, are light and the tuning stabilty is far better now. Huge difference. Standard tuners are terrible for Strat trem; get these (or something that locks) and a Graph Tek nut. Changing strings is also far easier; hardly any winds to get up to tune. I want locking tuners on all of my guitars now.

Great find.

I needed a set of 6 inline tuners for my Strat in a hurry. Normally I would have gone to my local guitar store to purchase a guitar brand name set of tuners. However, in this case, they were out of them and shipping was going to be in two weeks. So, I went on the Stew Mac site and ordered a set of Sperzel Trim-Lok 6-in-line machines. I had not used this type of tuner before and was curious to try them. They arrived the very next day and I was immediately impressed with the quality and smoothness of the tuners. I quickly mounted them on my Strat and was very pleased with the installation and appearance. They simply looked great. I have now used them for over two weeks and I am also impressed with their tuning stablility.
Thanks Stew Mac.
