Unbleached Bone Nuts

Unbleached Bone Nuts

Stewart-MacDonald is your source for quality bone!
Bone is traditionally favored for quality instruments. Our unbleached bone is even harder than bleached white bone, and has a mottled cream vintage look. Its hardness and density contributes to good tone, it polishes well, and it allows more precise slot filing.

Blank nuts have oversize length and height, for custom shaping in your shop. They're ready for trimming, filing, sanding and slotting.

Preshaped nuts will save you a LOT of work — a head start for the novice builder, and a bonus for the busy repair shop where time is money! The dimensions have been carefully researched, and minor trimming, slotting, and sanding are all that's needed to fit most popular guitars.

Very good product for custom builds

These unbleached bone nuts, whether pre-shaped or not, are perfect for setting up your rig your way, and gives you plenty of material to work with. Easily filed, they make it a fast way to go.

nice blanks

By

These will work great on a Gibson, but not so much for a epiphone. I wanted to replace a nut on my sons Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus top pro, the height was good, the width was good, but the depth was about 3 millimeters to thin.

I am really liking these.

I have now installed a few of these unbleached bone nuts on my guitars and love them. They seem to have a light waxiness to them that acts as a built in string slot lubricant. The color goes beautifully with aged cream bindings, much nicer than super white bleached would look.

These are very hard and have a great, almost translucent tone to them that make them great for giving a classic look to a guitar.
