Great to have!

I bought this for my Epiphone SG to adjust the action on the bridge on my guitar. I didn't have to worry about damaging any of the metal parts or surface on my guitar. I'm really glad I bought it. It was worth it.

I used these immediately and have been using them daily since. The white inserts aren't as hearty as I'd hoped, already showing signs of usage, but overall they seem to be doing well and I imagine they will last a long time even with the signs of wear and tear.

What an idea !!!

I decided to buy these "purpose built" pliers/ w/ replacement pads to 'retire' the set of Craftsman RoboGrip pliers w/ pads , I had been using for 18 years. These work just as good or better. I have used them to "gently turn" hard to turn pot shafts that have frozen (after spraying WD-40/or silicone spray down the shafts, etc.) What would be neat would be a device that could fit the splined (coarse/fine) end of the pot shaft. Overall a great addition to a luthier/tech/tinkerer's tool kit !!! at a great price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well made pliers

Yeah, sometimes I have to grabbed end pins with regular pliers in the past, trying to pad the jaws with tape or thin cardboard and regretted it every time.

No more - these are really nicely made pliers that have already come in handy pulling a old ebony end pin from an acoustic without leaving a mark. The right tool for the job when you need more decisive grip without the risk of dents or scratching.

I haven't really put these to the test but they are well made and fit in your hand well. I'm sure I'll get some good use out of them.

Beats taped plier jaws!  Excellent tool!

For years I have used metal jaw pliers with masking tape applied to the jaw teeth. This does work but you have to be very careful not to scratch what you are clamping. As usual, Stew Mac comes up with a great solution to an age old problem. Can’t tell you how many Stew-Mac inventions have made my life so much easier and safer!!!

Just what I need for my band room tool set

Sometimes you just have to use pliers on an instrument. You hate to do it but you're in a time jam and the horn has got to work now. These pliers have the non-scratch jaw protection you need for those situations. Way better than the aftermarket rubber jaw covers that I tried a few years ago that didn't hold up after a few uses. Stewmac's soft touch jaws are more like grooved and textured nylon and are held in place by a set screw which makes them replaceable. The handles have nice rubber covers and the jaws slip open for wider-width problems. I bought two of these - one for school and one for the toolbox at home and I bought replacement soft touch jaw pads while I was thinking about it. I also have a classroom set of 30+ guitars that I must maintain and Stewmac is where I look for my guitar repair tools and supplies.
