About This Item

Wake up your guitar with a vintage vibe! Inspired by legendary pickups of the '50s, Golden Age single-coil pickups bring out the best in your guitar.

The reviews say it all: "they really, really sing...great buy for the price." Wax-potted AWG42 coil windings and Alnico 5 staggered polepieces deliver vintage tone, optimum output at each position, balanced string response, and microphonic suppression. They're the real deal, for a lot less money.

Looking for extra punch? Our #5423 Overwound model is specially wound to 7.6K ohms, for the bridge or neck position.

Bonus! Two covers (one black and one white) are supplied with each Golden Age single-coil pickup, for easy pickguard matching.

Golden Age single-coil pickups have vintage dimensions for easy installation in standard bodies, and two vintage-style fabric-insulated hookup wires. Polepieces have 2-1/16" spread. Mounting screws, rubber tubing and wiring diagrams are included.

The middle-position pickup is reverse wound, reverse polarity, for hum cancellation at the #2 and #4 switch positions.

Note: Each pickup has a copper shield surrounding the coil, a modern feature for 60-cycle hum suppression not found on vintage pickups. To play "naked" vintage-style, simply snip the small jumper wire that connects the foil to the pickup's ground lug.

Great Pickups!

If your looking for that classic strat sound these, are the pickups. I’ve done a lot of pickups swaps over the years. Often, buyer’s remorse follows. But not with these. I installed in a mid ‘80s Japan Squier Stratocaster (the MIJ squiers are awesome but with sub-par electronics). What a difference. Far better than anything Fender offers in after-market. I’m a big fan of Seymour Duncan & these are at least on par if not better. And for the cost, these are a far better buy.

Serious chime and punch

I never write reviews, but I had to pass along my experience. My buddy built a custom strat with your Golden Age pickups and I ran it through my 18 watt 2x12 rig. With a Strymon compressor cranked, I was able to get all my favorite tones: chimy britpop, Dire Straits rhythm, early U2 grind, blues, funk, it was all there. Thanks for making these available.

Great sound but....

Verified Buyer

Love the sound and the Alnico 5's are nice and hot when needed with lots of sparkle. The screw holes were not spaced evenly one pickup and the rest needed to be tapped. This would be frustrating for someone who hasn't replaced pickups before. Also the black covers were scratched underneath the protective film. Not bad for a Korean made pickup.
