Alnico Bar Magnet

About This Item

Build or repair pickups with these authentic '50s parts! Just like the originals!

Dimensions:
2-1/2" x 1/2" x 1/8"
(63.5mm x 12.7mm x 3.175mm)

Choose Alnico 5 or Alnico 2 magnets:
Alnico 2 magnets give a warmer tone and low end response with smooth, singing highs. Many builders use them in the bridge pickups of solidbodies.
Alnico 5 produces a brighter tone with a tighter low end and stinging highs. They're great for neck position pickups, to help keep the tone clear without getting muddy.

The Alnico 2 magnets are marked red on one end to tell them apart from Alnico 5's. Supplied with full magnetic charge. Sold individually.

Wanted a known standard to be sure what a real 5 is. Highly recommended to brighten up an underpowered PU for Rock. For Blues the 2 is my favorite. #3 is perfect to hold paper clips.
Bonus - Under Special Instructions on my order I impulsively wrote: "Please do not lick guitar parts". Received parts quickly and clearly marked "Not Licked". You have to admire the self-restraint and dedication required to ship those tasty parts. PERFECT

I bought a alnico 5 to replace a ceramic bar magnet in a neck pickup I wasn't happy with. The results are outstanding ! I highly recommend trying this upgrade if you're not happy with a pickup before buying a new one.
