As a first time user of the pickguard adhesive I found the product very easy to work with and would purchase the product again when needed.

I make custom wood pickguards for my guitars that do not have them. Use the double-side to stick them to the top. Works really well.

Will not use again

If your pickguard is thick and opaque, this stuff may suffice. Otherwise stay away from it. I wasted a tortoloid pickguard, plus the labor because of this stuff. Even with soapy water it would not lay flat and the glue was visible through the pickguard. It looked horrible.

The adhesive sheet needs to include directions but it works great.

Adhesive sheet wrinkles badly, trapping air bubbles

By

Unlike most of the 3M double sided material I've used in the past, the batch I got most recently wrinkles like crazy, trapping air bubbles and generally not laying down even with the use of detergent water.
Cannot recommend.

Double-stick Pickguard Adhesive

Great material, very sticky, a best practices "how to" would be helpful, but isn't a long enough sheet for Gibson Hummingbird, Dove, or J200 pickguards

Worked far better than expected

Bought this to reapply an old "humingbird" style pickguard on a vintage Yamaha. The original guard was very thick and quite warped from decades of shrinking, so naturally I had my doubts the adhesive would hold the corners. After thoughts of heating and clamping between glass or some attempt to flatten the guard I decided to just stick it down and see what happens. It held strong with zero signs of letting go. As a precautionary I did clamp the sharper corners and extruding edges, but I don't think it was needed. Great product, witg amazing adhesion, and very easy to use.
