T-Style Electric Guitar Kit

About This Item

Welcome to guitar building!
If you're new to guitar building this kit's a great way to start: this is the classic electric guitar design that's fun to build, and you'll learn a lot.

The mahogany body and smooth neck are higher quality than other kits at this price. The parts fit perfectly, and with our instructions this is an easy build that makes a great guitar — and a great gift!

We've included a great set of illustrated instructions that'll take you step-by-step through the whole process from: creating a custom peghead, installing and aligning the neck, wiring the pickups, applying a finish, installing hardware and even doing a final setup on your custom guitar.

And, if that weren't enough, we're also including an extra set of Dunlop Guitar strings to make your guitar sound amazing.

Whether it's your first or your 50th, this is an affordable way to build a great guitar.

    Kit includes:
  • An upgraded mahogany body pre-routed and drilled for the proper placement of the neck, pickups, control cavity and bridge
  • A pre-fretted maple neck with blank peghead and pre-installed 2-way truss rod
  • Pre-installed fingerboard inlays
  • Slotted nut
  • Sealed tuners
  • Neck and bridge pickups
  • A wired switch plate for easy installation
  • Output jack
  • Classic Tele-style bridge and chrome hardware
  • 2 sets of strings
  • Setup adjustment wrenches
  • An output cord

Rare bargain!

This is my second kit! These kits are priced right, fun, easy to make, look way more expensive when completed and have exceeded my playability and tone expectations.

Good kit so far

Just getting started on assembly, but so far the neck and body were a good fit and the quality of the wood is really good. The fret job and dressing it top quality. Haven’t had a chance to test the electronics yet.

Great price on a good kit

This is my second StewMac guitar kit. Both are Tele-types. This one seems to have some problems with the neck, along the edge. Someone got a little too aggressive with the sander, it appears. I haven't had time to get it into the shop and evaluate, but I'm sure it can be saved, but it will require more work than the first kit, which is now my favorite guitar, and the one I play the most, so I'm expecting similar results with this kit. As the subject says, though: great price with the sale.

Everything included was in proper and correct condition. No issues what so ever with this build. For an amateur it's a good start.

very mediocre price-performance ratio

First of all I would like to clarify that my expectations for this price range were of course not that high and it was my first experience in building a guitar. From the beginning, I planned to replace the pickups with a DIMarzio set. Therefore, I can not make a judgment on the stock pickups. Nevertheless, the quality of the wood, especially as far as the body is concerned, was disappointing. Both in terms of workmanship and quality. The quality of the remaining parts (especially the tuners) was also very poor. Although the included instruction booklet was very helpful overall (especially for beginners), there was probably a mistake regarding the grounding (Page 12: Note that there is one lead that is not necessary for this circuit). This lead should be connected to the bridge in order to cancel out any interferences (hum). The fretting and neckadjustment was also not that easy (maybe because I'm a bloody beginner).
I believe that this kit isn't compatible with the good reputation of your company. You should either improve the product-quality or better remove it from your sales catalog. For the same price range, there are better products on the market. (unfortunately for me I've discovered it to late;-)
Despite all these issues and after some improvisations and replacements, the result (and especially the sound) is better than I've expected. Overall a usefull (but not necessarily
inexpensive) experience for my next project.

So Far Great!

First time on a project of this scale. Really taking my time and reading every word. Took me at least a week to get up the courage after practicing on scroll saw to make that headstock cut. Really like it!

Instructions clear and precise. Additional assistance if needed all add up to a top kit and a company that places customers as #1 and not just an annoying customer.

Just getting started with the build but excited about it. Thank you.

Looks great but

The bridge would be great if the guitar only had 3 strings. The intonation adjustment is a total compromise since one adjustment does 2 strings.
I'd love to send a picture cause it looks beautiful. Gonna find a different bridge somewhere
