Better Than Nut Sauce

By

Verified Buyer

In my opinion, Big Bends Nut Sauce is glorified Vaseline. I’ve actually made my own with Petroleum Jelly and White Powdered Graphite. Even with the applicator, I was never massively impressed. On the other hand, the waxy consistency of the Stew Mac Guitar Grease actually gets down into the nut slots, stays there, and adheres well to other moving parts. The aforementioned nut sauce stuff doesn’t stick well and can be easily wiped away, thus rendering it essentially useless. Trust me, this stuff is better than Big Bends. Period.

Hard to spread

Good lube, however the product is so dense it is hard to get out of the container and apply where needed. I’ll keep looking for an alternative

I love it's thickness and yet ease to apply. And it sticks and blends into the gears and screws in the saddle. Love it!!! Peace

Nut Sauce Excellence!

By

Verified Buyer

I used my StewMac Guitar Grease shortly after it arrived. I like its waxy consistency and I was easily able to apply it the nut slots on all of my guitars using only a simple toothpick. I also have a new Danelectro 64 Mosrite clone with a Bigsby trem, roller bridge, and zero fret nut that wasn't holding its tuning as well as I like. I put some Guitar Grease on the zero fret and string slots as well as the bridge rollers and, voila, no more tuning issues! At times, I attack my guitar strings pretty aggressively when playing and bending notes and it used to throw things out of tune. Since the addition of the Guitar Grease to the nut slots, my tuning tends to stay put. If this isn't "nut sauce" excellence, then I don't know what is.

Great lube for many purposes.

I used it on string saddles, the nut, anywhere a string touched. Also on tremalo. You could use it on anything that needs a line that will stay put. Does not have to be a guitar. And a little goes a long way. It is fairly solid almost waxy so it does not ten all over every thing. Good stuff.

Nice Container of "Waxified" Graphite

By

Verified Buyer

This is a nice container of "waxified" graphite. I use a flat toothpick to force a small amount into the nut slot for each string and all other friction points of the Tremolo System on my Strat. It is a little hard to work with but it only takes a small dab (small amount) to work wonders. This container will go a long way as long as you do not over-lube the parts. Remember, just a small dab!
