Western Red Cedar Soundboard for Ukulele

About This Item

A popular tonewood for ukulele
Softer than spruce, cedar has a slightly reddish hue and warmer tone than many other soundboard woods. Pair it with mahogany or koa for a dynamic and responsive sound.

Bookmatched sets of two quartersawn halves. When joined they're large enough for a soprano or tenor ukulele.

    Dimensions:
  • Each half is approximately 6-3/4" x 17-3/4" (172mm x 451mm)
  • Thickness-sanded to 0.125" - 0.130" (3.18mm - 3.30mm)

Nice Quality Wood

Wood was more than sufficiently sized for a tenor ukulele, and looks great. Due to it's lower density, make sure to watch for chipping when cutting, If you cut it carefully/slowly you shouldn't have any issues.

Going to use these 2 panels for the top and bottom of a cigar box violin I'm working on. They look good, nice and flat and match the description. way better option then the "nice" plywood at the lumber store for an instrument.

It was just what I needed. At 3mm it was a little too thick for what I wanted-but I took it down to 2 1/2mm with a little planing. Nice product at a fair price!
