Mighty Mite Vintage Amber Neck for Strat

About This Item

Shaped, inlaid, fretted and finished—Hard rock maple with a thin, vintage tint finish. These necks look and play great!

Choose solid Maple, Indian Rosewood, or Indian Laurel fingerboard. All have a single-action truss rod and traditional "skunk stripe" down the back. The string nut is slotted and shaped from PPS plastic with a flat bottom.

  • Thin polyurethane finish
  • 22 frets
  • Maple, Indian Rosewood, or Indian Laurel fingerboard
  • Peghead-adjustable truss rod (for 4mm Allen wrench)
  • Traditional dot inlays
  • 10mm diameter pegholes
  • Without mounting holes, so you can drill to fit your body

Peghead is drilled for 6-in-line tuning machines. 10mm-diameter holes fit sealed gear tuners with threaded peghead bushing. See all tuners.

Ideally, the neck should just drop into the neck-pocket, or be a little snug. Don't force the neck into the pocket. If the body is unfinished, remember that the finish will make the neck pocket smaller with lacquer build up on the edge of the rout. Be sure to compensate for the finish buildup or the neck will be too tight after finishing.

The skunk stripe is the same wood as the fingerboard for necks with Indian Rosewood and Indian Laurel fingerboards. Necks with maple fingerboards have merbau wood skunk stripes.

One of the best aftermarket necks out there for the price!

This is a great neck, I am always expecting to have to do a lot of work before all is said and done, this was not the case. this neck had a smooth yet flat radius that instantly felt natural to my hands. The lacquer finish, and fretwork were very well done. Well done Mighty Mite! The neck exceeded my expectations. I'll be ordering more of these.

Stratocaster neck

This is an excellent playing neck, flatter radius, smooth lacquer work, fretwork and nut finish are impeccable. This is my second of this one and the only possible query is that the amber tint, as others have noted, is quite light and not the deep yellow on Fender factory vintage necks. Still looks great and is probably more authentic. Top notch, as was the Stewmac processing and order delivery time.

No frills No nonsense

After a bit of research, I found this neck as the best bang for the Buck. I am somewhat happy with the Vintage stain however, I wish it was a bit darker and, that will come with age and time. The workmanship and finish is excellent. I have purchased a P-Bass neck in the past and I must say that upon installation the neck was almost tailor made for the body. Overall, I am very satisfied.

A Strat Neck that Doesn't Fit Fender Tuners???

By

Great neck overall, it looks nice and plays well, no sharp fret ends or anything on mine, may just need some minor leveling and crowning (I'll probably end up replacing the nut down the line too) but those are all okay because I was expecting all of that from a neck this cheap. However, what I wasn't expecting was that the pegholes wouldn't be big enough for Fender tuners. I got this neck to replace one for a Fender American Professional Strat without spending a lot of money and just figured since it was made for strats it would be made to fit the tuners for a strat. My mistake, just made it so I had to ream out all the pegholes a bit (probably only about another 16th of an inch), but it would be nice if they were the right size.

Good Right Out of the Box

When I first got this neck, I thought the finish looked a little plastic-y and the tint wasn't very noticeable. However, it's grown on me over time. The finish is quite nice and the subtle tint brings out the wood grain in a nice way, when it catches the light. Frets are not perfect, but dang close. The bevels are even and fret ends are not too sharp. Truss rod adjusts well. I've been playing it for a few months and I'm quite happy.

This was the perfect fit for my twenty year-old Custom Shop body I resurrected for a custom build. Neck fit perfectly, very straight. Good choice, Techs! Just finished the final product; photo attached.

Mitey Mite Vintage Amber Neck for Strat (maple fingerboard)

By

I have not mounted this neck to my Strat body yet, but it fits the neck pocket very well. There is a nice, gloss finish, that seems like it will age well with time. The frets seems very level too. My only complaints, are that the neck could have been slightly darker. In the pictures online, they look to be darker, and more vintage looking. Also, after really looking at it,there are some very small, fine craks on the lacquer on the side of a few frets. Not a huge deal though, as I have seen this on many new, high end Fender guitars.

Could be better

The Vintage amber staining is not very amber. Should be darker in color if you’re calling it Vintage amber. They also need to pay a little more attention to the frets, which definitely can be felt sticking out when running your hand up and down the neck.

really disappointed that the fret ends needed filing. All of them. Sticking out past the finish. Otherwise I'm happy
