Fantastic mahogany at an even more fantastic price
Every once in a while a deal comes together that you just can't say no to. This is one of them. We've secured a stash of high quality, one and two-piece (center-joined), "second-grade" Honduran Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) body blanks. However, don't let that "second-grade" throw you. These blanks are extremely nice. While yes, a few very small pin knots and other blemishes are present, they are remarkably light-weight and many have strong ribbon figure or even flame.
And, if you're clever, many of the imperfections can be hidden in pickup routes, under pickguards, or even featured as a visual aesthetic element.
Dollar for dollar the quality and appearance of these blanks will be very hard to beat.
Honduran Mahogany is exceptional to work with and a joy to stain and finish. There's a reason Genuine Mahogany has been the premier mahogany species on guitars for decades. Not only does it look beautiful, but it's a dream to work with too. It cuts and sands easily, routes cleanly, and stains and finishes effortlessly.
Act quick! This amazing wood won't last at this price.
Honduran Mahogany is becoming harder to get due to international regulations, and supplies are becoming more limited everyday.
