Really a must have!

This tool greatly expedites truss rod adjustments on telecasters with heel-adjustable truss rod.
Simply remove the pickguard and adjust. You don't have to remove the neck to adjust. You don't have to attempt the adjustment with a standard screwdriver. I loosened the middle two strings and spaced them apart with string spreaders and the neck adjustment was easy-peasy.

Not perfect, but the best thing I've found

I need to adjust my truss rods pretty often (crazy range of heat and humidity here) and this is a godsend for body-end truss rod adjustment. I've notched my pickguards so that I can use this without adjusting the neck, pickguard, or strings. It's slim enough to fit a small space, and very strong. The 45° angled end works great. But the 90° side doesn't grip well enough and strips the slots, even with a lot of attention to angle and pressure. I put some bright nail polish on mine so it's easier to see.

I bought two, one for my client whose Fender I repaired and one for my own tool kit.

Many Fender guitar and bass necks have the truss rod adjustment at the heel. This tool allows you to adjust the truss rod WITHOUT removing the neck. A huge time saver! It works equally well on basses as it does six string guitars.

Thankfully I haven’t had to use it but I love my fenders with neck heel adjustment, and I checked to see how this will work and should be just fine.

Adjusting the truss rod on my vintage style tele has been inconvenient at best because of the location and proximity to the neck pickup. I saw this special truss rod crank was available so figured I'd give it a shot. The good news is that the crank does what it says. You can make adjustments without contacting or needing to mess with the neck pickup. I wasn't impressed with the functional design otherwise though. The crank is a little weak, bendy when having to put the directional torque on it to make adjustments, and I found the edges of the tool to be sharp which is uncomfortable to use. The tool is just a bent piece of metal. I'd say realistically it should cost about $3. That said, it did make it more convenient to make truss rod adjustments.
