Carbide Downcut Inlay Router Bits

About This Item

The best for inlay work and more!
Solid carbide lasts far longer than steel, and reverse spiral flutes cut downward for cleaner, "no fuzz" edges in routed cavities.

To use our 1/8"-shank bits in your laminate trimmer's 1/4" collet, see our Adapter Collet.

Use the larger bits for removing wood in the middle of your inlay work, and save the smaller bits for the fine details. The fine detail bits are fragile, for routing intricate details only.

What type of bit do I need?
In our shops we use both, depending on the job and the type of wood we're working on.

Downcut Bits cut a very clean top edge of the rout with some fuzz around the bottom. These are perfect for jobs like cutting purflings and soundhole rosettes on softer woods like spruce and mahogany. We also use them for cutting inlay routs where you want a clean top edge with less possibility of grain tear out.

For the cleanest flat-bottom rout, use Upcut bits.

Get all the bits you need
We have a set of all 5 Downcut bits to add to your precision routing arsenal, and a set of all 10 upcut and downcut bits so you’ll be prepared for any job and any type of wood.

We have all the sizes you need to tackle your next job:

Length: 1-1/2" (38.10mm)
Shank diameter: 1/8" (3.18mm)

Excellent et de bonne qualité. Sa fraise très facilement. Testé dans du bois assez dur, aucun soucis. Pour creuser des caractères fins ou des formes complexes c'est un jeu d'enfant. A utiliser avec le Precison Router Base de préférence.

Fantastic for detail work," Start with shallow cuts, you don't want to Hog this bit !!!"
I haven't used it with exotic hard woods yet, but I have had great results with Oak & Maple.
This is a purchase I will make again.
