Pocket Truss Rod Wrenches

About This Item

Pocket-size steel hex wrenches that fit in your guitar case. The 1-1/8" (28.58mm) socket is tapered to fit into recessed truss rod access cavities.

For 5/16" Gibson and other hex truss rod nut sizes.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches for the repair shop. The length, durability, and variety of sizes let you perform truss rod adjustments efficiently.

Not all truss rod cavities are the same width. Make sure the wrench will fit your cavity by comparing the outer diameter of the wrench barrel to your guitar.

Wrench Outer diameter
#6104 For 1/4" nut 0.385" (9.78mm)
#6105 For 9/32" nut 0.405" (10.29mm)
#6106 For 5/16" nut 0.436" (11.07mm)

These tools are available in our money-saving Truss Rod Wrench Set.

Tool fit the job. Thanks!

I bought this wrench for my 1991 Les Paul Studio which had a very tight space for the truss rod nut and other wrenches I had would not work. I didn't want to mess up the guitar by trying to jam needle nose pliers in there or anything else. This fit perfectly. Now my action is back in tip top shape! Thanks!

I bought this wrench to tweak a Yamaha RBX 200 bass neck and it works well so far. Well made product. Shipping cost was more than product. Delivered in 7 days not 2 to 4 days as promised.

Excellent quality but it will not fit truss rod area for adjustment on my ES335

The wrench is high quality but I could not use it because the circumference will not allow me to access my truss rod nut. I could rhem out the area to make it fit... but instead I went to my local hardware store and found a 5/16 nut driver that had thinner walls and was able to get it to fit.

Too large to fit in the head slot for my OMI Hound Dog.

The truss rod wrench is a nice little tool but it did not fit into the head slot for my OMI Hound Dog Dobro.

I wasn't sure if it would work or not when I bought it but the socket is too long to fit into the slot. It is no fault of the tool, just a tight spot for the truss rod.

worked perfectly

This tool works perfectly on Gibson style headstock truss rod nuts. Slipped right in place and the lever arm was the perfect angle. Long enough to apply leverage, but not so long as to make it easy to snap the truss rod, or strip the threads.

Pretty self explanatory what this tool does, but damn if it doesn't do it well!

Does what it’s supposed to do...

and fits in that tight spot where a ratchet and other wrenches are too big. I would it find it a more convenient tool if it had a small Phillips head screwdriver at the end of the handle for removing the truss rod nut cover.

Rickenbacker Truss Rod Problem Not Solved

By

Unfortunately this well made product did not fit under my new Rickenbacker 12 string truss rod nut because the truss rod cavity is simply to shallow. This is a problem which Ric is well aware of and appears to dismiss by advising the owners should grind down the nut drivers. Either way the guys at Stew Mac were really nice and helpful but it is not there fault. I will get a grinder I guess.

Great fit and finish, fits easily into even a tight truss rod opening, and at a good price.

Bought it for my 2017 gibson les paul traditional T. My wrench was missing so went ahead and bought this. It fits perfectly and quality was good.
