I never knew what I was missing!

Growing up I had never used round-nose pliers. If I had pli-ing to do, I'd use variants with flat jaws. If I were being honest, I'd have to say that I had been using pliers for a decade before I even knew they made 'em with round jaws.

I bought these specifically to aid with conventional Bigsby stringing (though I've turned nearly all of my clientele onto the Vibramate string spoiler, so I rarely find myself doing such a task these days), and quickly found them to be some of the handiest pliers I've ever used! They are perfect for bending things that need to be bent, as the name "bending pliers" vaguely indicates, but they also shine in many other instances. Small and difficult-to-grip items with conventional pliers are oftentimes small beans for this little guy. Drop a dress-washer into a hollowbody and this baby grips it ably and easily, whereas flat-nose pliers just scoot it around as you try to find a good hold while cursing all things holy. They also work excellent for manipulating electronic hardware for installation (bending the output lug of a volume pot back against the casing to solder the ground link, etc). Truth be told these are now the most common pliers I reach for if I simply need something to grab or bend an item, using needle-nose only if the jaws of this guy cannot reach where I need 'em to and using standard pliers only when I need the increased grip for one reason or another.

Round Nose Bending Pliers

I bought these pliers but forgot that I had them. I was struggling to bend a resistor in one of my builds; I looked over, and there it was. This tool works fantasic when building or repairing amplifiers where some difficult bending is required to fit the component onto the board.

Great tool for every builder or amplifier tech!

Great to have when re-stringing a slot-head!

These pliers made restringing my slot-head SO much easier. The small jaws get into the tight areas well.

If you don't have a pair of StewMac's Round-nose Bending Pliers, step up and buy a pair. They work great for making 90-degree bends on guitar or bass strings; and, for gently bending a terminal on a potentiometer or the leads on a capacitor, for example. Lots of uses, actually. I'm glad I bought them. I'm a music tool junky, too. :)
