Soundhole Truss Rod Wrenches

About This Item

Allen ball end for easy access! Our special right-angle wrenches provide clearance under the guitar's braces for adjusting the truss rod through the soundhole.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches for the repair shop. The length, comfortable rubberized handles, durability, and variety of sizes let you perform truss rod adjustments more efficiently.

The 4mm wrench is for Hot Rod truss rods. #6110 works for pre-August 2007 Martins; #6114 is for Martins made afterward.

These tools are available in our money-saving Truss Rod Wrench Set.

Nice tool, good value

I used to use regular allen wrenches which work okay but are difficult to align exactly and hard to turn when the nut is far inside and accessed from the soundhole. These work great, are easy to use and well worth the cost.

I love these wrenches. I now have them all. Handles are great and the steel is strong. I do wish that all of them had the size stamped on the shafts. Not all do.

Worked great on a Martin from sound hole and a Greg Bennett TR1 from the head stock. Perfect fit.

Perfect wrench for Martin guitar

By

I changed to lighter gauge strings on my Martin, from lights (12’s) to silk and steel. After a few days the neck settled and I noticed a bit of fret buzz on the D string on the first three frets. I used the tool to make 1/8 th turn adjustments over two days and the buzz went away. (I needed to increase the relief). The tool worked like a charm, on my martin, the truss rod nut is buried pretty deep, so I added a locating mark on the hex wrench ( a spot of nail polish) to help me determine the correct depth where the wrench fits in the nut. It will make it easier to install the next time. Avoids a bit of blind fishing.....

This has been used on a few guitars already from my 2018 Martin to an 80's Yamaha. this has helped several guitars become more playable and it's a great price and comfortable to use.

Comfy, with better leverage

By

I purchased the 5mm wrenches with the 2" and 4-1/2" reaches. Let's just say my hands no longer get sore pressing against sharp iron hex corners. The handles are comfy. Also, the handles are much longer than regular hex wrenches, which means it takes less effort, thanks to greater leverage. It also means it's easier to make finer adjustments. If I ever need the other variations of these wrenches, I will not hesitate to click Buy.

4 mm Triple Bend Truss Rod Wrench

I bought this wrench primarily to adjust the truss rods in Collings guitars. I found that I had to shorten the hex portion by about 1/2 " to keep the J bend from hitting the brace under the fingerboard. This might not be an issue on older Collings where the truss rod nut is buried in a little deeper in the neck block or on 12 fret models with a little more room between nut and the brace under the fingerboard extension.
