Solomon SL-30 Soldering Station

About This Item

Pro quality! Adjustable digitally controlled heat lets you get clean, professional solder connections for a variety of jobs.

No cold solder joints, no uncooperative solder flow, no burned connections.

Adjustable temperature control: The SL-30 soldering station's heat sensor is located near the soldering tip for a fast, accurate and consistent LCD Celsius readout, from 160-480 degrees (320-900 degrees F). For extended service life, an electronically switched transformer isolates the tip from transient AC voltage spikes.

    The SL-30 Soldering Station includes:
  • Comfort-grip soldering iron with 3-1/2 foot heat-resistant cord and 1/32" fine-point tip for precision soldering
  • Easy-reach adjustable soldering iron holder, with vented steel safety cover for heat dissipation
  • Tip-wiping sponge

We recommend: Order a chisel tip for soldering connections to the back of a control pot or grounding a wire to a tremolo claw. It's also handy for steaming out wood dents with a damp cloth.

#0501 is a 110-volt AC electrical appliance, 60Hz. It has a U.S. standard Type A plug with two flat parallel prongs, ungrounded.

#0601 is a 220-volt AC electrical appliance, 50Hz. It has an international plug Type C (Europlug) with two round prongs, ungrounded.

Excellent soldering iron

By

Verified Buyer

I just finished building my first tube amp, a Victoria 2Stroke. I have a good butane soldering iron but I knew I needed a good controllable electric iron, so after a little research I bought the Solomon SL-30. So this is my first REAL soldering iron and it work great, the soldering temp can be adjusted very easily and appears very accurate. The iron handles very well and soldering tips are very easy to change out. Excellent

Incredibly versatile tool for any instrument or amp soldering job!

I was getting very frustrated with with my ability to do good soldering work until I found this station on StewMac, It isn't cheap but to me it is worth every cent. The ability to maintain total control of the temperature and vary it as needed has made a profound difference in my ability to do good work.

I have used it on several guitars to replace pots and pickups with great success but it has been a godsend in building a couple of StewMac amp kits (The '59 Tweed Deluxe and the '66 Deluxe Reverb). This unit has performed flawlessly in these two builds.

If you intend to work on your own or other people's musical equipment pay the price and grab one of these beauties and take the time to learn the centigrade to fahrenheit conversion and you will be glad you did. Nuff sed!

Works great with the heat stick for neck removal

By

Verified Buyer

I use this only for removing necks and it works great with the heat stick. I am sure it works well for soldering as well but I much prefer a different brand station that is priced about the same. There is no heat stick available for that iron so I bought the Solomon for neck removal. No regrets at all.

The best!!!

The soldering iron works fine. It heats fast and it cools off fast. You can see the temp. cool and rise. It is an upgrade from the soldering irons I have had for the last 45 years. I would get the flat tip for soldering in case you need to solder something like the ground on the back of a pot.

Had the same pro soldering station for 22 years and it just got tired. Now, everything heats up fast and smooth, like the good old days.......

This is the best solder iron that I have owned. The temperature control is excellent and accurate. Having a great temp reading at the tip is key. Fantastic unit.

Great results

By

You do really get the best results when you have the best equipment. I have a few Weller irons that had for years but I started to get great results when this arrived. Nice - neat results. Instead of a huge blob on a pot I'd get a perfect little pea to hold those ground wires.
