Bullet Guitar Jack Tightener

About This Item

Fix loose jacks instantly
Tighten jacks and save your gig without taking anything apart!

This handy tool tightens jacks on guitars, amps, and pedals—it works from the outside to prevent twisting and breaking the delicate solder joints inside the jack.

Simple and inexpensive, it's a pocket-sized fix for a very common problem. Put one in your gig bag, jacks always fail when you least expect it!

Fix your jack in three easy steps:
  • Put the socket head over the 1/2" nut
  • Press the rubbery Grip-Tip into the jack to hold it
  • Turn the tightening handle. That’s it!

Two models to choose from
The original is smooth molded plastic, so it won't scratch your guitar or amp hardware. The 2.0 model has a brass socket for a lifetime of heavy use.

Fits 1/2" inch nuts for 1/4" inch jacks.

Bullet 2.0 Review

Works very easily on 1/2" nuts; I tore it out of the package and went through a few of my guitars and its all gravy...until you get to an import with a smaller nut size. However, this tool is pretty clear that its only for 1/2" so its not like I was surprised. Overall, a good cheap tool to have around; would be great if they made a metric version for import/cheapie guitars.

Doesn't Fit Acoustic End-pin Jacks

By

Verified Buyer

The tool doesn't have a deep enough throat to accommodate the amount of thread that needs to come out for an acoustic end-pin jack. From all the current photos, the barrel appears to be deep enough-- but it's not even close. The tool works fine for an electric, but it's not useable on acoustics.

There's no mention on the page that it doesn't work for acoustic jacks and the photos don't show the depth. Just something to be aware of.

Well worth the money, even in a well-equipped shop

These gizmos are handy! I've used the original version for a couple years; I keep one each in my workshop and in my mobile workstation, and regularly recommend them to my touring clients and their techs.

Loose jacks are common; The ability to tighten 'em from outside the instrument is invaluable. It's far quicker (time is money!), and exposes the instrument to less of a chance of accidental damage from a wandering screwdriver blade or whatnot. These are doubly handy for amps, as well, since dismantling an amp to access the jack is a much larger job than the same task on a guitar. There is another, more expensive and deluxe tool made for this operation by a different manufacturer and I have that tool as well, but this one is much faster to use (the benefit of the other one is the ability to work on different size nuts).

I do wish they could find a way for this jack to ALSO function with the nuts used on the M9 threaded jacks, such as the 9-lug output jacks, or at least make a metric version for that specific application.

I'll be buying one of the 2.0 versions on my next order! My original is still going strong as I'm gentle with it, but I love it enough that I'm interested in checking out the 2.0.

Output jack on my Strat was becoming loose. This fixed it in just a couple of seconds. Easily usable on other guitars & amps, too. Highly recommended.

necessary piece of equipment

As an owner of an Epiphone semi-hollowbody, I have a feeling I am going to get a lot of mileage out of this. This thing is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, so it easily fits in my guitar case. Tightens that loose jack right up and it is easy to use. So necessary and SSSSOOOOO much easier than all of the jerry-rigged fixes you find on the internet. Worth the money.
