Plate Mate on 1952 LG3

I had to trim the ends to make it fit between washers on the bridge bolts, but this wasn't too difficult. It solved the problem of the string ball ends digging into the bridge plate and noticeably improved response and tone.

Great for worn bridge plate holes !

How about this for an old Fender acoustic, the string ends were coming too far through holes and hanging on bridge saddle and pulling it forward under tension, cured problem ,improved sustain also ! It's easy to install too ! This is a quick and economic fix that works !

I installed this on my guitar, and the sound is fantastic. I’m going to install another one on my Epiphone guitar!

This is what's needed to help keep your wood plate from getting shredded up by the strings over time. I think it made my Martin guitar sound better also. Get one.

Item works perfectly and saves you from making a new base plate from scratch. A bit over priced in my opinion, but if everything cost what I would like, I would own a Lamborghini Gallardo!

I've had a chewed up low E string bridge plate hole for a while. I was putting off the proper repair but then came along this. Excellent results and was was a snap to install. Very happy with the results. Installed on a 1996 Gibson Blues King Electro

Love the plate mate

I have a EJ 200 and its my workhorse,It has a big body and the sound was too bassy for my likes. I first changed my hut and saddle with bone and it did add some improvement but still wasn't satisfied.I went with brass pins and that also helped, then I heard about the plate mate and installed, was a very easy installation and now my Ej came alive and couldn't ask for any better sound. It stays in tune like it never has before. Thank you Mitchel and Stew Mac

Very Practical Device

This is the second plate mate that I've purchased for my acoustic guitars. The latest plate mate I bought from Stewmac is for my Taylor 810E Deluxe. I can tell you from my own experience that the plate mates installed on my Martin D41 & Taylor 810 not only protect the underside of the bridge but also transfer energy from the strings to the body further enhancing the tone. The plate mate is a very practical ingenious device that every acoustic guitarist should utilize in their instruments. I'm sold on the plate mate & will purchase them in the future for any acoustic guitars I purchase in the future...

Really useful product!

I bought one of each spacing for badly chewed bridgeplates on an old J45 and D25.....really easy to fit and particularly like the "keyhole" feature, ball ends beautifully neat.
I didn't notice any change in sound and I'm happier that way...but fit of the bridge pins improved and the end windings all vanished into the pin slots leaving a lovely clean strings well before they cross the saddle.
These would certainly be my first choice solution in future.

Every acoustic should have this

I installed this into a customer's guitar and it evened out the string to string balance besides adding some sustain. I have them on my own personal acoustics(2005 Hummingbird & 1963 J-50). This one thing helps to strengthen the bridge plate and save a costly repair down the line and adds a nice tonal aspect to any acoustic.
