Blush Eraser

About This Item

Eliminates the white clouding that appears when moisture is trapped in a new finish. Also useful for finish touch-up and repair.

When you spray a finish in humid conditions, a "blushed" (whitened) surface can occur when moisture becomes trapped in the finish. As soon as the blush appears, use Aerosol Blush Eraser to reflow the surface and free the trapped moisture. It preserves the clarity of the finish, and helps "melt-in" overspray after spot finish repairs, too. For use with nitrocellulose lacquer finishes only.

Formally labeled as Behlen.

13-ounce aerosol spray can.

Saved from the haze!

I had applied about 10 clear coats of nitrocellulose lacquer aerosol, and noticed that at the end of some cans, I would get a hazy finish. Then, the hazy finish happened when applying a coat from a fresh can. In retrospect, I believe the humidity had significantly increased during the days from the first coat to the tenth. I was spraying outside, so it was probably the humidity that caused the whitish, hazy look. Blush Eraser immediately cleared up the haze. After applying the 11th and 12th clear coats, I used Blush Eraser again as a flash coat. It worked perfectly! If you have to finish your guitars in a humid environment, this stuff can save your bacon.

Let's face it, we're not weathermen, so determining the degree of atmospheric humidity is not our strong point. And believe me, it doesn't take a lot of humidity to turn a perfect lacquer spray coat milky/hazy. Fortunately, there's a solution to this misfortune with blush eraser. Just follow directions on the can and virtually instantaneously, the blush is removed. They recommend spraying right after the blushing occurs but I've had no problem waiting several days after the problem happens. Blush eraser works perfectly. Believe me, you need a can or two of this on hand because you just never know when mother nature is going attack.

I thought I ruined my first kit after spraying with high humidity. I was pissed! I googled solutions and found the blush eraser. Holy crap it worked in seconds! It was super easy to use and took no time at all. Got me right back on track and I would recommend everyone keeping a can of this handy. Or... don’t spray when it’s humid!

Yep, Great Stuff

Ordered two cans of Jet Spray and just now got to use it. It is hot and humid and my little shop of horrors is not the best setup to keep blush under control. Well my piece that I'm working on did blush and the jet spray was handy. I gave the blushing a shot on the guitar body where needed and it took care of it. First time use was a little heavy but I didn't over do it so the spray job didn't get damaged. I figured out that a short light shot onto the blush is all it needs. So this stuff does what it needs to. Yep Great Stuff.

I live in a high humidity area. After spraying lacquer on my lastest bass, you guessed it, it blushed...badly. Ordered this product, stewmac got it to me in like 2 days. Sprayed it on and WOOHOO no more blushing. Not only that, but I sprayed it on a bit heavy in a couple of places and it ran. Them runs flattened themselves right out. Thank you StewMac for carrying this stuff, worth every penny I paid!

OK, got a little antsy and continued to spray clear lacquer after the sun went down. I wound up with some white areas and went into panic mode. After some research, I found the Jet Spray Blush Eraser. Even after 6 days of dry time, I could actually watch the blush disappear! After sanding and polishing, I could find no evidence of the blush. What a life saver for those of us who get a little impatient!
