This is an awesome encyclopedia of guitar finishes and applications. I'm thinking of refinishing the top of my Heritage Golden Eagle (natural as it came) and this will surely come in handy in the process.

A very good primer on guitar refinishing with excellent step by step discussion on the process along the way. The color chart was particularly useful in matching my instruments color and finish.

Great Resource

I'm new to building guitars and I have found this book to be a tremendous resource for gaining an understanding of the guitar finishing process. Everything is laid out in a logical manner and has enough detail to allow the reader to try it on their own. There are just enough pictures to help the reader but not so many that it is just a book of pretty guitars. I especially like the color charts and "recipes" for popular guitar finishes. Guitar Finish Step-By-Step is highly recommended by this reader.
