Lots of useful info in no particular order

By

Those of us buying from StewMac for a very long time used to look forward to the paper catalog arriving every quarter knowing that as well as new tools it may have some really cool info in the trade secrets section. Remember that this was "pre-internet" when there was little if any info outside of a few old books and a library of Dan's articles torn out of Guitar player magazine.
The little tips and bits of advice were valued so much and I kept them all in a file, so when a printed reprint of them came out I was delighted to have them all in one place.
Some of the info will have made it's way into Dan's updated versions of his Guitar Player Repair Guide and maybe into later Trade Secret videos, but I can promise that there will be titbits of information that will stay with you forever within these two books.
I find that they are the kind of books I will grab during a coffee break and read a few articles which i will find useful at some point rather than a book to reach for mid job to get guidance.
I also like that I am featured in one of them....

Worth the money to have in your library, as long as you accept that they are literally just reprints from the old paper catalogs, and remember that this was all pre-internet.

Great selection of old StewMac "Trade Secrets" quite a few repeated articles but a great read none the less, that bring back some great memories of the old StewMac catalogues and articles before the Internet existed. A good buy and a great read.

Not a luthier and a beginning guitar fix-it, It's mostly a fun and informative read (sometimes on the throne - - the days of Montgomery & Ward in the outhouse are long gone), and I won't ever tear out a page even if the roll is empty. I've learned a bunch.
