Grover 18:1 Sta-Tite (97-18 Series) 3+3 Tuners

About This Item

Grover Sta-Tite™ tuners are a modern version of a vintage design. For 3-left/3-right solid pegheads.

Each tuner features 18:1 gear ratio for fine tuning, a cast baseplate, vintage style scalloped knobs, and nylon worm bearings and tension screw for smooth operation.

Sets of 6 (3-left/3-right). Each set includes mounting screws and knurled press-fit peghead bushings. 11/32" (8.73mm) diameter pegholes required.

Also available for slotted pegheads.

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the #2062 Bushing Reamer (.340" diameter) to cut a clean, accurate counterbore for a professional job. Fit the press-fit tuner bushings correctly so your tuners will work smoothly.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Tuner CONVERSION

By

Verified Buyer

I converted a set of closed style tuners to the Grover Sta-Tite open tuners to update my guitar’s look. The conversion was not difficult. The tuners fit the existing holes with only miner modification and the tuners work very well.

Bought Grover Tuners for my custom guitar with low end tuners that slipped. They worked and look great! High Quality.

GREAT TUNERS

By

I just did a set up on a Martin Traditional with Waverley's. These Grover's are much smoother and easier to turn. Great tuners, they look perfect and are well made. I used them on a 1965 000-18.

Ordered these vintage tuners upon recommendation of good friend to replace the old tuners on a 69 Guild D35. Install was straight forward, did have to enlarge the holes in the headstock just a tad. Great upgrade and very satisfied with product and service from Stewmac.

Great Replacements

I put these on my 35' L-4 which would have had Sta-Tites originally but had been changed out decades ago. I am glad I chose the 18:1 upgrade, it makes tuning effortless.

Best vintage style tuner for the money

I've been using Waverly and they are great tuners but for less than half you can use the Grover with the same look and flawless smooth type operation. They are my go to vintage tuners now.
They sta-tite.

Recently purchased a Martin DRS2 and changed the closed tuners with the Grover's. I just think they look more "Martin". Excellent tuners and great, prompt service from Stewart-McDonald.
