Economy Covered Gear 6-In-Line Tuners

About This Item

Sometimes you simply need basic tuners that work! For 6-in-line pegheads.

• 14:1 ratio
• Fit 5/16"-diameter pegholes
• Press-fit bushings and screws included
• Set of 6
• Chrome

Installation Tips

Bushings: We recommend the Standard Peghole Reamer to cut smooth, perfectly round holes.

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Good Quality For The Price

These were a perfect drop-in for the tuners on my Fender Squier Mini Strat - no drilling was required. The tuning gearing seems a little more precise than the stock tuners that were on it previously. As others here have noted, the covers in the back of these tuners scratch easily, and the tuner ferrules look like they might be a bit too large for the Squier Mini, so I just left the stock ones on the guitar (also, I'm sort of new to this and didn't want to tackle a bigger job of removing the old ferrules and boring out the tuner holes to make the new ferrules fit).

Very happy so far.

Rebuilding a beat-up old Lotus Strat copy that I'm turning and burning and didn't want to put too much $$ in to it so I went with these tuners and they work fine.

Bought a Squire Bullet Strat that was practically unplayable and un-tunable. Took it, these tuners and a new set of strings to my luthier and Holy Cow. What a difference!

These tuners screwed right onto my guitar in the original holes. No drilling at all. Perfect

I have just recently installed the tuners.

They seem to be fine, and have smooth action. I can't tell how well they will hold up yet since they have just been installed, but I think they'll be fine; especially for the price.
In my limited experience, Stew Mac rarely disappoints.

Does the job!

Replaced a set on a Peavey Falcon. The brass gears on the original tuners were worn down and not holding tune on a couple of strings. These solved the issue and matched the originals.
Now the beater stays in tune.
I added a bit more grease to the gears before installing, otherwise things couldn't have worked better.
Thank you!

Restored a Mail-Order Relic

My parents gave me a JC Penney Strat copy for my 16th birthday -- and let's just say it was a while ago... I still have the guitar, and it has been the testbed for many adventures in fretwork, nut-making, finish fixes, wiring experiments, and more. Amazingly, these tuners fit perfectly and tuning is much more stable. The only downside: the plating is uneven on a couple of the covers.

Best for the money

Tuners were exactly what I needed for an old Aria strat copy. Diagram measurements were exact and the screw holes lined up exactly where the old holes were. Don't be fooled by others cause 1-2mm difference and the tuners won't line up. Bushings were METAL, others tuners have plastic bushings which can bind when tuning. These are worth the extra money.

Carlo Robelli is now PLAYABLE !

Picked an old Carlo Robelli Strat Knockoff and it sounded and felt GREAT , BUT it wouldn't hold Tune , with these little inexpensive Tuners it holds tune and you wouldn't believe how it sounds now . (Sometimes you find a cheep guitar that just needs some loving care , you can find what you need at Stu-Mac .)
