Adjustable Tension Bass Tuner Set

About This Item

High quality 22:1 gear ratio bass tuners with smooth, precise operation.

Economical bass tuners with smooth, precise operation. 22:1 gear ratio, Allen-adjustable gear tension, die-cast baseplates, slotted string posts and "elephant ear" knobs.

Screws and press-fit peghead bushings included. 23/32"-diameter pegholes required. Use a 2.5mm hex wrench to adjust the tension.

Pilot holes required: Installing delicate screws such as these into hard maple requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend using a No.50 bit for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Correct Size and Tension

Bought these as a replacement for a P Bass - I misplaced my others. They mounted in the same holes and stay in tune.

Excellent!

Great for the necks that you are selling. but it would be nice if you offered the common fender size for 11/16 dia. peg head holes. It's a good thing that I'm using one of your necks though.

Great stability! Awesome price!

A great set of tuners for a decent price. And adjustable tension even! What more can one say?

They fit my Relica Fender Precision bass perfectly!

While they work well, and are extremely stable, they won't fool anyone into thinking they are vintage (although in all fairness, they aren't billed as such)- they actually look like the cheaper tuners on Mexican Fenders. This might limit their appeal with regards to restoration projects...

Honestly, I have only one minor gripe (that would sway my rating to 4.5 stars)- Stewmac could have included a 2.5mm hex key with these tuners. DiMarzio includes a key with most of their pickups (its chromed even!). Just sayin'...

Otherwise, I highly recommend these tuners as a lower cost alternative/replacement.

Never tried adjustable tuners until now. I've purchased several sets. Wish I had them on all my guitars!

I got these to replace some sloppy tuners on a bass partscaster. They seem to be quality tuners. No play in the gears.

Adjustable Tension Bass Tuner Set

By

I bought 3 sets of these tuners, configured as 2-left, 2-right for use in a line of electric upright basses built in my shop for discerning patrons playing at a high standard. The price is reasonable, and the quality of the hardware is in the league of the Schallers I used in prototypes. I am happy with the appearance and quality feel of the operating hardware. The large gauge upright bass strings are handled adequately by the large-diameter pegs and drive gears. I am still seeking larger double bass tuners, but happy with these meanwhile.

Second set for the tension screws that fell out of first set. Great tuners, but put Locktite on the screws.

Perfect for Jack Casady bass

After 19 years of everyday use, and a few falls, I had to replace my original tuners with the 3804 set.
They fit perfectly without any drilling or alterations. The price is great and the delivery time was outstanding. Thrilled.
