About This Item

Handsome 14:1 tuners for nylon-string classical guitars, mid-priced and economy versions. For 3-left/3-right pegheads.

Complete sets of 14:1 tuners with ornate lyra-style baseplates and plastic knobs. For nylon-string classical guitars with slotted peghead and 35mm (1-3/8") string roller spacing. The string roller sleeves are durable 3/8"-diameter white plastic.

Each set includes a pair of 3-left/3-right tuning machines with mounting screws.

#0938-G is a gold-plated set with ornate baseplates and removable pearl-figured plastic knobs.
#0940-G is Gotoh's "antique" gold-plated economy set, with nonremovable plastic knobs, with subtle pearl shine.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the Depth-stop Drill Bits for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

#0938-G ornate tuner mounting screws use: #1711 (No.50 bit)
#0940-G economy tuner mounting screws use: #1712 (5/64" bit)

These work very well, there are a direct replacement of the tuners that where on the guitar.

Lyra machines on vintage classic

By

Just put a set of these machines on my Hernandis vintage classic. Not only do these look beautiful on my ax, but the gear mechanism is a few steps above what was provided on this student guitar. I am confident that within a few days the tuning will stabilize as it should. Do not fear these machines are quality!

Nice, inexpensive replacement

These are a nice, inexpensive replacement for the degraded tuners on my really old, really "not top-line" classical guitar and were a drop-in fit.

Great for the price.

An adult student brought an old Sigma classical in, thought the wider neck might be easier for his gnarled old fingers. When I took off the old strings the tuner barrels were cracked and broken. He didn't want to spend a lot so I bought these Gotos. They look good and wind smooth, problem solved, we're both happy.

They work great. Much better than the originals, but kind of pricey, I thought.

New tuners

I ordered these tuners for my old Yamaha Classical. I was worried that they would not fit because my measurement was slightly different than the specs on the page. They fit up perfectly. They came with new screws so I didn't have to worry about that part of it. They are very smooth when tuning allowing for a more precise pitch. I like them very much and would recommend them to others in need. I didn't have to break the bank.
