For a $7K Martin

The Martin CS OM 13 has Waverly snake-wood tuner knobs, bubinga bindings everywhere with a tortoise pick-guard and crushed red coral fingerboard inlays. All that red against the blazing white of a high-altitude Swiss top looks stunning. I wanted pins worthy of the guitars value and looks, as opposed to the black Martin OEM pins. These Waverly's were perfect and consistent. Highly polished, shell inlay and red coloring made these the right choice. You can pay a lot more and not get pins nearly this nice. Did I notice a difference in sound? ...that's subjective and depends on who you ask. Martin still uses plastic pins. I buy pins for their looks mostly. I'd replace the plastic or man-made saddles and nuts first before I'd ever plunk down $100 for a set of mammoth ivory pins.

Waverly Snakewood Bridge Pins with Shell Inlay

The snakewood bridge pins are beautiful!!....
The finish on them is so nice you will think its fake! And can not possibly be wood, but it is indeed, the inlays of the pearl dot are perfectly centered, ans when ordered in the set of six, stewmac did a great job on supplying a nice matched grain set...none are more extreme that the others, so they give a great look and even flow look.

also i use to be a fan of the brass pins that work great also but for some guitars just give to high of a bright tone, and a not a loss, but not a gain on the bottom end, but these wood pins give let your guitar keep it sound with a extra added warmth, and even projection of highs and lows,..

I used my most recent set in a 1965 gibson b15, supporting an all mahogany body and an adjustable mahogany saddle, so between the pins, saddle, and the new bone nut also from stewmac, this old beginners model gibson sounds unbelievable, with great projection and a warmth that i thought would never be achieved by just upgrading the bridge pins and the nut..

Sounds so good that i may to take the time to do some extra work on this old guitar dubbed a student guitar and make it into a real beauty because i don't plan on selling it. The 3/4 body size, and 14th fret at the body, i plan on using my other stewmac products to install a nice wood binding. And a new tortoise blank to replace the badly faded existing one

But yes, the bridge pins are the bees knees!! Love them!!! And would recommend them to anyone who would like to put a nice visual match to their bridge and keep your guitars natural sound with that added
warmth!!!

i will add a photo of a before and after for just the bridge pins and new nut. The binding will be a whole different review.

Thanks, Mick konigus

High Quality

As expected, these pins are very high quality it fit and finish. They fit my J200 perfectly however, I did sand the ends on an angle to allow the string ball to glide up the pin easier.
The snake wood is very hard and allows for great transmission from the strings to the bridge.

All in all, a best buy at this price!
