Chopping the ends off bridge pins

If you're not careful, installing new strings can create a problem that throws you out of tune or damages your bridge pin holes. Elliot John-Conry of EJC Guitars shows us an easy fix.

Perfect Pins

By

Verified Buyer

Bought a set of the unslotted pins to replace the weird gumby pins in a D-28 A 1931 Martin. Pins seat perfectly in the slotted bridge plate but are not loose. Some slight variation in color pin to pin but nothing objectionable. I couldn't be more pleased.

Bone bridgepins

They have made a great difference in the tone, and sustain on my guitar I like that they do not match in color, they look like the real deal, instead of some man made produce.

Delivery time was unexpectedly fast. I am a happy camper. Jack

Looks Great and Fit Martin Perfectly

By

Verified Buyer

I am guessing these are size 1.3 rather than 2A. They fit my current Martins perfectly and look nicer than the plastic pins that come from Martin. I can't say whether they impact the sound, but I am about to order 2 more sets for my other Martins. I am guessing these will fit well in a Alvarez Yari, Blueridge, Gibsons (1995-2009 only), Huss and Dalton, Martins after 1994, McPherson and Takamine pro series only since they all use size 1.3 pins.

Good quality pins

These are good quality bone pins. Unfortunately, the holes in my bridge don't have quite as sharp of an angle as these do, so I can't use them.

J160e upgrade

By

Verified Buyer

I got these pins because the tone of my J160 e was a little brittle. I tried ebony pins but they didn't look right and they didn't sound the way I wanted that guitar to sound.

The bone pins are perfect, the full bright smooth tone I wanted with the same look I was after. Perfect!
