Guitar String Ferrules

About This Item

For mounting the strings through the body of a non-tremolo solidbody guitar.

A better match on vintage guitars: the Relic Nickel plating has an aged look, perfect for repairing old guitars, when shiny hardware looks out of place.

Drill 1/8" (3.00mm) diameter string holes through the guitar body for all ferrules.

Flange diameter: 25/64" (9.92mm)
Mounting hole required: 5/16" (8mm)
Overall depth: 11/32" (8.73mm)

Set of 6.

Bought a set of these for a build and I don't like the fact that they are mic'ing 8.25mm diameter, even if you use a 3/8" bit for drilling your holes its going to be a tight fit that will risk your finish if you aren't very very careful.

Response from StewMac

Hi Michael,
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that our Guitar String Ferrules didn't work for you as you expected. If you are not satisfied you may return them for a refund or exchange. Please call us at 1-800-848-2273.

The listed 5/16" diameter mounting hole is recommended if you intend to fit the ferrules with no finish in the holes. If you plan to fit the ferrules after applying finish, we recommend using an 11/32" bit to drill oversize holes to allow for finish overspray in the recess. We hope this helps!

This product  is absolutely worth putting on your build.

There are plenty of good YouTube videos to show you how to do this properly. Mine didn't end up so straight on the backside. But I would still do it again. Better to take your telecaster to a buddies who has a drillpress. Good luck!
