String Saver Classic Saddles

About This Item

Traditional tone with reduced string breakage!
For Strat or Tele with 2-1/16" (52.39mm) string spread at the bridge.

Replacement stainless steel saddles with embedded inserts of Graph Tech's super-slick lube-action polymer. Play longer and harder with less string breakage. These saddles have a traditional appearance and the tonal bite of steel.

How do the String Saver saddle inserts work?
Graph Tech has found that a slotted metal saddle can stress a vibrating string at a specific point, resulting in metal fatigue and eventual string breakage. The high-density polymer insert on a String Saver Classics saddle is impregnated with Teflon, 500% more slippery than graphite. Non-corroding self-lubricating action eases and spreads the stress just enough to drastically reduce string breakage, no matter how hard you play.

String Saver Classics saddles have been factory-installed by Fender and Tom Anderson Guitars.

Important: Measure your guitar's bridge saddles before ordering!

I bought a set of Sting Saver saddles for my Strat to help prevent string breakage due to whammy use and metal saddles. They work fantastic! and help with the guitar staying in tune and look great! Mine are full composite (black) and look GREAT on my David Gilmore strat. I also got a set for my Telephone and will soon be buying a new set for my 2019 Les Paul Gold Top.

Nice upgrade for 2014 American Tele

By

My 2014 American tele had the stock saddles with the protruding height adjustment screws - very uncomfortable for palm muting. I considered filing them down but they only engage the bent metal saddles for a very few threads, so that solution seemed problematic for future adjustments. In searching for alternatives, I ran across these saddles and found that the reviews were uniformly outstanding. I installed them easily in a few minutes and have been very happy with the result. Adjusting the intonation was quick and easy and the height adjustment set screws do no protrude at all, so palm muting is very comfortable. I really haven't noticed much change in tone after installing them. They are exactly as advertised and StewMac sent them out right away.

Nice Set Of Saddles

This is a nice set of saddles that replaced the factory saddles on my MIM strat, which had become rusty and grimy. They intonated easily, and fit well. My tone was not noticeably impacted by these saddles.

I love these saddles. They are easy to install. I was wish that they were on Stratocaster and Telecasters.

I bought these for a 2002 MIM Roland Ready strat because the threaded poles on my classic saddles were too sharp and annoying. These work great and now I have a very comfortable guitar for the relatively small price that the saddles costed.

It should have been some Fender OEM

I bought these String Saver saddles to replace the old, rusted, stripped out saddles of the Fender Standard Strat. Now, the guitar looks better and is easily intonated. There is also an improvement in sound. The somewhat 'spiky' sound that could be associated with bent steel saddles is gone . This is my second purchase. I used the first one to replace the saddles of the Squire Deryck Tele which I find a bit awful looking.

These are really legit. I replaced my vintage style Strat saddles (with modern string spacing) with these. No pain when you mute! And they sound great. A little more resonant than the stock saddles.

Great Addition to my Strat

I bought these saddles as an upgrade to the bridge on my Fender Stratocaster. The original saddles were the bent steel and while they looked ok, they didn't feel ok when I was palm muting since I like my action low. These saddles have fixed that problem and were direct replacement.

Tuning seems to be a bit quicker with these saddles, meaning I can get to the right note tuned with accuracy the first time. The original bent saddles had me making one pass when tuning to get the strings tuned, and then go back to tune them again at least one more time. I don't know if I was doing something wrong or not but the original saddles seemed to be a bit more picky about how the strings were tuned.

The only complaint I could have with them is that they do not have a chrome finish. The image online gave me the impression that they had a brighter, more chrome like finish. Instead they look more like a stainless steel/brushed finish. Considering the price I wish they had a chrome finish, but it's a small compromise considering the feel and ease of tuning I now enjoy. They do have a nice contrast against the chrome bridge and they feel great against my palm so I'm happy.
