Pickguard for Gibson® Les Paul®

About This Item

Contoured for Gibson® Les Paul® guitars with full-size humbucking pickups. Each includes a chrome bracket with mounting screws, nut and washer.

The black/white/black pickguard has a beveled edge to reveal the laminations, and the cream version has the original squared edge. Both have a gloss upper surface and countersunk screw holes.

Bracket is 2-1/4" x 1" (57.15mm x 25.40mm). Mounting hole is 3/4" (19.05mm) down the side of the bracket. The bracket top mounting slot is 1/8" x 1-1/8" (3.18mm x 28.58mm).

Replacement brackets also available in chrome and gold.

Color-matching Cream Parts and Bindings
There have always been slight variations in the color of the cream plastic parts used on Gibson and other guitars. It's not uncommon to see brand new and vintage guitars with bindings, pickup rings, toggle switch rings and pickguards that don't perfectly match in color. We do our best to match all our cream products, but there's no absolute control from batch to batch, or from supplier to supplier.

Good looking, but doesn't fitq

By

Verified Buyer

I bought this for a 2018 Gibson Les Paul and it doesn't line up. The cutouts for the pickups are larger than the factory one so you have some room to move it around, but if you get it to fit around the pickups the upper screw hole is too high on the pickguard and it does not line up. I also tried it on my 2016 Epiphone Les Paul to see if I could use it there and it would not work on that either. Will be returning.

It's a good looking guard and the plasitc feels as good as a genuine Gibson one, but just would not work on either my my two Pauls.

Cream Pickguard

By

Ordered this very reasonable pickguard for a Les Paul Standard of which the client subsequently removed and then, through the fullness of time lost the original. The coloration is a tad lighter than the other trim but somewhat acceptable depending on ambient lighting.

Bought the pickguard and the pickup mounting rings for a Les Paul studio. Screw holes don't line up. Pickguard had scratches. Ended up ordering authentic Gibson parts.

Much nicer pickgaurd than stock. Now pickgaurd matches binding. Should have been done to start with in my opinion. Very fast shipping. Good communication from stew mac.

Not quite the right shape or color

This seems to be similar, but not an exact match to a traditional spec Les Paul pick guard. Also, the color is "richer" and more tan than what I would consider a cream color. If I would use this on my guitar (I probably won't) I would try leaving it in the sun for a while to let the color fade a little.

Response from StewMac

Hi Christoffer,
We're sorry to hear our Pickguard for Gibson Les Paul didn't meet your expectations. Through the years, there have always been slight color variations to the cream components used on Gibson and other guitars. Unfortunately, this makes it very difficult to perfectly color match many cream plastic parts.

If you would like to speak with our Customer Support Team about a refund or replacement for this product, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-848-2273. We look forward to helping you with this.
