Each mounting ring has a flat (non-arched) bottom, and must be trimmed or sanded to match an arched guitar top. Sold individually.

Color-matching Cream Parts and Bindings
There have always been slight variations in the color of the cream plastic parts used on Gibson and other guitars. It's not uncommon to see brand new and vintage guitars with bindings, pickup rings, toggle switch rings and pickguards that don't perfectly match in color. We do our best to match all our cream products, but there's no absolute control from batch to batch, or from supplier to supplier.

H'Bucker mountings rings & everything else....

By

Verified Buyer

I left Indiana (with a band) in 1968. Had StewMac (and Sweetwater) been around at that time, I'd probably still be a Hoosier. This is an unsurpassed resource for luthery tools and supplies.

On the 2 (out of dozens of) instances when I've needed to contact customer service, their response was fast, to the point, and problem solved! (Did I mention 'Fast'?)

If you're looking for 'cheap', go elsewhere. If you want value and tools you can use to build heirloom quality instruments (and pass the tools along to your heirs when you're finished), then shop here with confidence.

StewMac crew, thank you once again. I've already received my most recent order (early, and in perfect condition), and my next shopping list is growing as we speak.

All the Best,

Steve Purcell

I thought the black rings would look better, I was right!!! Took a bit of fitting to match the arch top and looks perfect.

Good. But watch out.

These are definitely great quality.

But be advised that you will have to sand them to fit arch tops. I didnt read well enough and didnt know this. It was no issue, I did the work and they fit great.

However something worth noting.

IF YOU BUY THE LP GUITAR KIT from this site.

Note that the route holes in the LP kit bodies are slightly larger than that of a gibson.

I had 2 kits. The pickups that came with it didnt fit quite right so I sanded out the route holes, then sanded down the ears on the pickups.

These rings are SMALLER than what comes with the LP kits, so i could not use them on one of my two guitar kits, since I made the holes bigger.

Having learned my lesson, I did not sand the holes out on my second kit, and I used Seymour duncan pickups. These rings go RIGHT TO THE EDGE of the route holes, but with a really careful hand, I was able to align them and drill holes in such a way that they fit properly... but barely. We're talking maybe 1mm of play before the hole is exposed. And on the neck side, there is a 3mm gap between the ring and the neck.

Not a big deal. Just realize that they are smaller than what comes with the LP kits.

This also means that if you drill holes for the LP kit rings and want to replace them later, the screw holes dont line up. So, if you want these on your LP kit, START with them.

Because of this, I will be returning 1 set that i purchased. I bought two sets but could only use one.

They are much nicer though.

No good for Les Paul Studio

By

Bought the pickup mounting rings for a Les Paul studio. They're not an exact match, and about 1/8" taller than the factory rings. Screw holes don't exactly line up. Ended up ordering authentic parts. Good for a new build but not as replacements.

Good if you want peach and not creme

Good enough ring but clearly is peach. Doesn't match a single cream thing I have on my guitar...

Great fit and look!

I have USA Professional Telecaster HS Electric Guitar that had a humbucker pickup, that wasn't working properly, so I replaced it with a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gate Bridge pickup. What I found on the Fender pickup I was replacing, was that the holes in the mounting ring didn't line up with the Pearly Gate pickup, so I ordered this one from StewMac to replace it as well. It fit perfectly, and I didn't have to make any adjustments to make it fit, and it looks like it came with the guitar.

Colour mismatch, but otherwise what you'd expect

By

I ordered the cream pickup rings to go on my Les Paul, but the colouring was way off from the other cream parts on the guitar I couldn't use them. Otherwise, they're the right dimensions, solid material, etc. Just disappointed the colour was off- I would label them Peach, not Cream.

Perfect for matching PU height.

By

Verified Buyer

I adjusted my PU's on my new guitar after learning how to set up a guitar for the best performance and the PU rings that came with the guitar were low and didn't look good so I ordered these and sanded them down to give a little more body around the PU's. Very happy with the purchase.
