About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Retaining wire not needed

All I can say is nice stability & tuning but that needless retaining wire is a pain in the axe!. You will understand when you go to set your intonation & you have to reverse a saddle and the retaining wire does not cooperate.

This bridge worked great on my Les Paul Standard DC. I am going to order two more for my LP Studio models later this month. Great price and showed up really fast. I used my existing posts and just easily swapped the bridge piece out. Works perfect and intonation is solid and holding very well.

I just recently completely re-purposing a 40 year old, not particularly expensive, Orlando guitar, which simply had great looks and perfect neck. I installed new Klein pickups, wiring, pickup toggle switch, bridge and neck nut, tuning keys etc. It sings like a Les Paul now. Got all the parts from Stew Mac, ordering on line. All parts arrived on time or early, as promised, and in perfect condition. All products were extraordinarily high quality. Can't say enough good about Stew Mac

Ordered another ABR-1 TOM bridge from StewMac. These are great. I have several and really like the way they look, fit, intonate and sound.

StewMac is the best- many thanks.

That'll work

For someone looking for an ABR-1 on a budget, this one works fine. I didn't use the studs that came with it as I already had some that worked installed on my SG, so I'd keep that in mind. Not a lot to say about it, it is as simple as it gets.

I mainly ordered this one because it had the slots pre-cut. I didn't want to mess with doing this myself so this worked out well. Combine that with the price, and it's a win.
