Golden Age Roller Bridge

About This Item

The only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville Tune-O-Matic. Low-friction brass roller saddles let the strings move freely and return to accurate pitch.

We designed this bridge to work with Bigsby vibratos, in place of the Nashville Tune-o-matic. This is the only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville, so you maintain the string action you're used to. We gave it a low profile to keep the strings clear of the bridge body too, eliminating a frequent source of vibrato problems.

Thumbwheel height-adjustment studs and knurled bushings are included.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Very nice bridge - Some Modification Needed

By

I wanted to replace the stock bridge on my Epiphone Casino for better intonation and tuning. So I found this Golden Age Roller Bridge from StewMac on Amazon. I thought the roller bridge made better sense to keep in tune and intonate better. This was the answer. The fit and finish is well worth the price and the saddles have a bit more travel than a standard bridge. The only issue I had on the Casino was the bushings from the old bridge were a little larger so the hole for the Golden Age bushings was just a little bigger. No problem that a few wraps of tape couldn’t fix, snugged the bushing in the hole perfect. I’m very pleased with this bridge.

Worth every penny

Bought two of these. Installed one on a Gretsch 5420T Electromatic and another on a Gretsch 2420T Streamliner, both with G and D string tuning issues as is often the case with Bigsby equipped guitars. Very hard to find 12" radius roller bridges and I was happy to find these.
Completely solved the the tuning instability on both.
Both guitars play beautifully now and return to perfect tuning when bending a string or using the Bigsby. I also feel that the tone has improved immensely with the strings sounding much more "even" when playing chords rather than any one string standing out more than the others.
Be forewarned, it takes a little retrofitting to the wood bridge base on a Gretsch because the bushings are a touch larger than the stock thumb wheel shafts but with patience and careful planning, it's well worth the effort and ultimately, the gift that keeps on giving since it will clear up tuning instability. Thank you Stewmac for making a 12" radius roller bridge available!

Well, the roller bridge is nice, but it will not, I repeat WILL NOT work on an Epiphone Standard Les Paul. Very Unfortunate this isn't clear in the description.

Excellent addition to my Gretsch G5420

Wanted help for tuning stability with the Bigsby and found it.. Had to unpinned the stock bridge and drilling holes for the ferrels in the factory base. Also shorted the ferrels by 2 mm and the adjuster bolts by 5 mm to obtain a perfect fit on the top of the body. Intonation was the easiest I have ever set. Tone, sustain and clarity is noticeably improved. And it looks great on my baby...

excellent purchase, very easy to install, a real change in the sound, install it in a gibson les paul studio 2012, apparently already came pre-toned and what I liked the most that brings the exact radius of the freetboard 12
